On the Table with Serena Smith

About On the Table with Serena Smith

On the Table is an intimate and irreverent talk series about the messiness of being human, hosted by slowly reforming perfectionist Serena Smith. Featuring open, long-form conversations, OTT isn't so much about the ways in which we've arrived, but about the places we're in progress. Shot live over cocktails from an LA restaurant banquette, the series is inspired by Serena's former boss Larry King – who early in his career shot a show live from a Miami diner booth – and our host's undying love of flirting. Streamed live on YouTube every last Weds of the month. Powered by Eclipse.video

Putting It All Out There with Greg Fitzsimmons | On the Table Ep 12

Serena gets in the booth with four-time Emmy-winning comedian, writer, author – and Serena's landlord – Greg Fitzsimmons to discuss the art and slog of comedy over 35 years, managing ADHD and depression, raising kids who actually like you, and Greg's explorations of his sexual identity in this wide-ranging, candid, and raucous interview. Shot live from Zinqué Restaurant in Venice CA, On the Table features conversations about the messiness of being human. A four-time Emmy nominee, she was formerly Supervising Creative Producer at MasterClass – where she directed series spanning from food to feminism and won a James Beard Award – and Senior Producer at Larry King Now, which included writing the host’s questions and interviewing guests. She got her start in the industry working for Oprah Winfrey, was a restaurant critic in Chicago, and during one college winter break played a fairy princess who granted children wishes. It was magnificent. Raised in Montreal, Vancouver, and Chicago, Serena graduated from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism with a minor in psychology and an incorrigible curiosity about the human condition. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, ‘On the Table’ director Ian Smith, and their remarkable community of friends. If you need her, chances are she’s onstage at Stud Country.
