Cultures from around the world all describe instances where an old woman leers over you whilst you should be asleep in bed... you can't move, you're awake and sometimes, she's sat on your chest. No, we're not making it up, it's been recorded in no less than 34 countries around the world!
From cultural superstition, first hand accounts (revealed by one of the hosts as well!) to the science behind some of this - we've got you covered when it comes to the tale of the Night Hag and the Shadow People.

POP #01 - Terence Carvalho (Proud of Pompey Series)
This week Alex & Dan kick off their Proud of Pompey series with Terence Carvalho! Terence and his team have been leading the way for the City of Culture bid during 2026 and as a social media presence promoting the city and its residents, he was naturally one of the guests which the dynamic duo of the south coast wanted to have on the podcast.
Terence, born and bred in the city, discusses growing up with the navy as one of his influences, along with fond memories of iconic establishments which made up his childhood; from museums, nationally-hated parking structures to foaming fountains and local vernacular.
Finishing off with discussing the centenary and what it would mean for the city and its future with a winning bid, Alex & Dan get some great insight into what it means to represent a city and the fantastic opportunity in reminding its residents why it's a great place to live!

OTT #215 - Superstitions (2026 Spooky Season Collection)
This week, Alex & Dan ditch the nostalgia beach for some more globe trotting, as they bring you some popular superstitions from around the world!
There's the usual ones - Friday 13th, throwing salt (sodium!) or seeing black cats - we talk about their origins and where in the world will you see these things avoided the most.
We also then discuss some not-so-common superstitions - from Lemons and Chillis, not going straight home after a wake, whistling indoors and cheers-ing with water.
