WAITing List - James 5:7–12
Before the year ends, don’t just count the days that passed. Check who you’ve become while waiting.
Some prayers are still unanswered. Some promises are still unfolding. Some seasons take longer than we expected. But James reminds us that waiting is not a reason to give up; it’s an opportunity to grow in patience, strengthen our hearts, and remain faithful to God.
So, before the year ends, take a moment to check your WAITing List:
CHECK YOUR PATIENCE. Am I learning to trust God’s timing, or am I forcing things to happen my way?
CHECK YOUR HEART. Has waiting made me more trusting, or more frustrated, bitter, and discouraged?
CHECK YOUR FAITHFULNESS. Am I still standing firm in God, even when I haven’t seen the answers I prayed for?
Remember, the waiting season is not wasted when God is at work in you.
You may not have received everything you hoped for this year, but you can still end the year with a heart that trusts, a faith that perseveres, and a life that remains faithful.
BEfoRe the year ends, don’t just check what you’ve received. Check how you’ve waited.
WAIT with patience. WAIT with a strengthened heart. WAIT with faithfulness.

The Friend Request - James 4:1–10
Before the year ends, here’s another item on our spiritual checklist: What or who do I give access to my life?
James exposes the conflicts that begin when our desires take control. We want, we fight, we compare, we chase and somewhere along the way, we can give the world more access to our hearts than we give to God.
Not every friend request deserves an accept.
So, before the year ends, it’s time to check our access list:
What desires have been shaping me?
What influences have been pulling me away from God?
What have I allowed to take His place in my heart?
James gives us the answer: Submit to God. Resist the devil. Draw near to God.
Because the closer we draw to God, the clearer we become about what needs to be removed from our lives.
Before the year ends, check your friend requests.
Not everything asking for access deserves a YES.

Before the year ends, here’s another item on our spiritual checklist:
What have my words been saying about my faith?
James reminds us that our words carry weight. A small tongue can direct the course of a life, build someone up, or tear someone down. And sometimes, what comes out of our mouths reveals what is happening inside our hearts.
Because your words have receipts.
They show what you value.
They show what’s in your heart.
They show what or Who is shaping you.
So before the year ends, let’s check our conversations.
Have my words brought life or hurt?
Encouragement or discouragement?
Grace or judgment?
Truth spoken in love or words spoken in anger?
Your words have receipts. Make sure they show Jesus.
