The Doctrine of Last Things Part Eleven: Living in the Light of Eternity
The doctrine of the Last Things should transform how Christians live now. Because life is brief, we should number our days, walk wisely and use faithfully the time God has given us. We live as pilgrims—not escapists—serving Christ within the present world while awaiting the renewed creation. Ourreadiness for eternity rests entirely upon Christ, while daily repentance, Scripture, prayer, holiness, peace, faithful service and love for Christ’s appearing are fruits of His grace. Revelation should be read pastorally, with Scripture explaining its symbols, repeated cycles being recognised and Christ kept at the centre. Its proper response is worship, obedience, endurance and faithful witness.

The Doctrine of Last Things Part Ten: The Final State
After Final Judgement, the wicked will endure conscious, just and everlasting punishment, while the righteous will enjoy eternal embodied life with God in the new heavens and new earth. The Christian hope is not permanent existence without a body or escape from creation. God will raise His people, renew creation, remove the curse and dwell with them forever. The prophetic promises of righteousness, peace and the knowledge of God will reach their complete fulfilment in the new heavens and new earth.

The Doctrine of Last Things Part Nine: The Final Judgement
At Christ’s return, every person and the fallen angels will stand before His righteous judgement. Every deed, word, motive and secret thing will be brought into the light. Believers are saved by grace alone and cannot be condemned, but their works will publicly demonstrate the reality of God’s saving grace. Final Judgement is the great dividing line between this present mixed age and the everlasting state. It will publicly display God’s justice, answer every earthly wrong and reveal the final destiny of every person.
