ONE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE
Formerly known as “Lake Houston Church” has been showing God’s love in the Atascocita/ Humble community for over 30 years.
We are blessed to be a church filled with people from all different walks of life, different ages and different languages.
We are One Church through God’s grace, together in communion.
What does our faith actually look like when we walk through our own front door? That is the heart of what we explore in this message drawn from Colossians 3:18 through 4:1. Paul moves us beyond the beautiful ideals of Christian character and plants those ideals right in the middle of our most personal relationships. The passage challenges us to see our marriages, our parenting, and our work not as separate from our spiritual lives but as the very arenas where discipleship happens. Every interaction with a spouse, a child, or a coworker becomes an opportunity to either reflect Christ or contradict Him. The sobering reality is that the people closest to us do not just hear our faith, they experience it. And that changes everything about how we approach the ordinary moments of daily life.

Living the New Life: A Journey in Christ
What does it mean to be saved? It is far more than a one-time moment of forgiveness. It is a complete transformation of identity, desire, and direction. Drawing from Colossians 3, we explore Paul's bold declaration that because we have been raised with Christ, the way we think, pursue, and live should reflect that new reality. Paul challenges us to set our minds on things above, not as a passive suggestion, but as an active, daily redirection of our desires and attention. What captures our minds will eventually capture our lives, and that truth cuts straight to the heart of how we spend our time, what we dwell on, and what we pursue. This message invites us to examine whether our inner life reflects the new identity we have been given in Christ, and to begin the ongoing, renewing work of aligning our thoughts with what is eternal.

Christ is enough
What if everything we have been searching for in our faith was already ours the moment we placed our trust in Christ? That is the question at the heart of Colossians chapter 2. This passage confronts a challenge that is just as real for us today as it was for the early church: the temptation to believe that Jesus is good, but not quite enough. We are constantly surrounded by voices promising deeper knowledge, new spiritual experiences, secret systems, or religious performances that will finally make us complete. Paul's answer cuts through all of it with remarkable clarity. In Christ, all the fullness of God dwells in bodily form, and because we are in Christ, we have been brought to fullness. Not partially. Not provisionally. Fully. The sermon draws a vivid distinction between growing deeper into Christ versus drifting away from him while chasing ideas and experiences that orbit around him. Like a tree whose strength comes from the depth of its roots, our spiritual maturity is not measured by how far beyond Jesus we have traveled, but by how deeply into him we have grown. This is an invitation to stop looking for what we think is missing and start discovering the immeasurable richness of what we already have.
