Galatians, Week 7

The Apostle Paul wrote to the churches in Galatia with deep urgency, pleading with believers not to throw away the freedom they had found in Christ. Through His Son, God has adopted us as heirs, giving us full access to Him rather than the limited standing of those still under the law. One of the most powerful truths in this passage is that it is not simply that we know God, but that God knows us completely, intimately, and personally. Before we ever called on Him, He already knew us. The world makes compelling promises, but it never tells you the cost. Deception is the enemy's primary tool, and it works because it looks so real and so appealing. Like the Apostle Peter, we must ask ourselves: if not Christ, then where else would we go? Nothing compares to the surpassing worth of knowing Him, and nothing is worth walking away from the One who already knows your name.

Galatians, Week 6

God gave us the law not to save us, but to show us our need for a Savior. Paul explains in Galatians 3 that the law functioned like a guardian, a temporary guide meant to lead us to Jesus Christ. Once Christ came, justification became available through faith, not performance. We are accepted by God not because of what we do for Him, but because of what Jesus has already done for us. This means we no longer obey God to earn His approval. We obey out of gratitude because we already have it. The gospel creates a family where the only requirement for entry is faith in Christ. We are children of God, heirs of the promise, and we truly belong.

Galatians, Week 5

Most of us carry a picture of what success looks like, but following Jesus means that picture has to change. In Galatians 2:20, Paul describes a life where the old self is gone and Christ lives within us. This is not just a theological idea. It is the daily reality of what it means to follow Jesus. The Galatians had drifted from this truth by adding rules and requirements on top of their faith, as if Jesus alone were not enough. Paul makes it clear that no one can earn right standing with God through effort or performance. Christ took on the curse of the law so we would not have to carry it. Real success, real freedom, and real life are not found in what we can accomplish on our own. They are found in Christ living in us.
