About One in Ten
The award-winning One in Ten podcast, now in its eighth season, is powered and produced by National Children’s Alliance (NCA) (https://www.nationalchildrensalliance.org/). This social science podcast was first launched on May 2, 2019, after our host, NCA CEO, and podcast enthusiast Teresa Huizar, couldn’t find any shows that were directly linked to child abuse and the latest science surrounding the issue. Teresa wanted to create a go-to resource for child abuse professionals, giving them access to the brightest minds dealing with the problem of child abuse. You’re invited to listen to our podcast and get the latest science and overall insights on keeping children safe and helping them heal.

These things can look like children that maybe have less stable access to resources or support by people around them. It could also be, you know, behaviors to build trust with that child. The perpetrator might start to integrate themselves into their lives by maybe taking on a parent role, a friend role, a romantic partnership even kind of role, taking an interest in what they're interested in and building that relationship, the trust of the child and potentially the trust of people around the child as well.
