Bristol Airport has applied for planning permission to increase its annual passenger numbers to 15 million, an increase of 28%. This will mean over 1000 extra night lights, over 4 million more people travelling to the airport on their already congested roads, and a huge increase in pollution. They also intend to enlarge their runway and install landing lights on Felton Common, which is an ancient wildlife haven. The local people are furious and determined to stop the airport's plans. I met the Save Felton Common campaign group as they were about to protest outside the airport.
