One New Man Ministries is an Ephesians 2 ministry of reconciliation. As Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles, together we study the Old and New Testament from the point of view of God's continuous revelation of His plan to redeem a people for Himself through His only begotten son, Yeshua Ha Meshiach, Jesus Christ. Yeshua means "salvation" and is God's merciful plan to save all people through their faith in Yeshua, Jesus, as the once and for all atoning sacrifice. He is "the gift of God" Eph2:8-22. "For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility,... that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross..." "For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father." We are "fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structue, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him, you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit."
We discuss the gospel reading Mathew 22:34-46 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind.' And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" We discuss the Old Testament passage Leviticus 19:1-2,15-18 which also states "you shall love your neighbor as yourself." We discuss how Yeshua expands the meaning of "neighbor" and fulfills God's covenant made with Abraham that his descendants shall be a blessing to all nations. We discuss the parable of the Good Samaritan in this context and Leviticus 19:33-34 which commands "You shall treat the stranger (Hebrew word ger) who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself." We discuss the second part of the same gospel reading where Yeshua confronts the Pharisees with their misunderstanding of the Messiah. The Pharisees answer that the Messiah is "the son of David" when David "by the Spirit calls him Lord, saying, 'The Lord said to my Lord, 'Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.'"

Does Seeing God's Glory Demand a Mediator?
We discuss Exodus 33: and Moses asking God, "Please show me your glory." And God said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you the name, 'The LORD', and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. But,' he said, 'you cannot see my face, for no one shall see me and live.'" We discuss Hebrews 3:1-6 which discusses that Heb 3:3 "Yeshua/Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses-as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself." We discuss Yeshua/Jesus as a mediator of more of God's glory as we are progressively conformed to his image and enter into communion with him as a new man and together as a new humanity, the unified ekklesia/church or body of Messiah.

Many are Called, but Few are Chosen
This week's lectionary starts with Exodus 32 and the story of the golden calf at Sinai and the "stiff necked people" who thus act perversely or corrupt themselves. God's "wrath may burn hot against them" but Moses' intercedes for his people as recounted in Ps 106:23 "Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach" by making the appeal to God about the covenantal promises that God Ex 32: "swore to (your people) them by your own self". Ex 32: 14 "And the LORD changed his mind about the disaster that he planned to bring on his people. We discuss how Jesus/Yeshua intercedes for us similarly. In Mathew 22:1-14 Jesus tells the parable of the king's wedding feast for his son and the guests who chose not to attend. Mt 22:8-9 And the king said 'The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go therefore into the main streets and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet." Later at the feast the king told his attendants that a guest who was not wearing a wedding robe was to be bound and thrown into the outer darkness. And Jesus concludes Mt 22: 14 "For many are called, but few are chosen." We discuss what this means.
