A post on Facebook by Rev Gareth Hill caught our podcasting eye and we had to dig deeper. Gareth has some critical things to say about a certain hot drink, what it conveys about our churches and the welcome they offer.
Some might see it as controversial, but in this episode, John puts it to Rev'd Sue and the results are.....well, you'll have to listen !
Our voice-note Dollops of Joy are back and it's a pleasure to hear about two VERY different and positive stories. All we'll say at this point is volunteering and bags.

Bringing hope at every turn
I know it's a bold claim, but I think we can live up to it!
Disagreeing well, resolving conflict and training people and faith communities to be peacemakers. Their work is transformational and has brought about reconciliation to some of the most deep-seated conflicts within churches.
Georgia Boon is the Director of Place for Hope (https://www.placeforhope.org.uk/) and she is our first guest on this episode. Hear all about the way disagreements can arise and how we can all get better at listening.
Our second guest is Wendy Sturgess. A seasoned crafter, Wendy facilitates the ten week Peaced Together course (https://www.peacedtogether.co.uk/) at Wellingborough Methodist Church. WIth some of the attendees coming via social prescribing, the set themes and hands on making help to address people's challenges, mental health and emotional turmoil.
It's a remarkable course and also shows how churches can make new and successful links - in this case social prescribing and the NHS.

The Rev'd Sue Mysteries
Yes, we know. It could be the new Richard Coles book dramatised for tv. However, this is a true story and not the figment of a writer's over active imagination !
So just what happened when our co host, Rev'd Sue Jacobs was at a welcome service for another minister? You might need to ask her in person; it probably doesn't pass the podcast censorship filter !
This of course is the launch of our much talked about second episode, which will happen every month now. It's a very different format to the One Voices you'll have experienced so far and gives all of the wonderful people around the District an opportunity to be part of the podcast.
