We want to create a church that unchurched and dechurched people loved to attend. A place where people can ask questions about faith and take a second look at God. We believe that just like Jesus, the local church should be irresistible. We want to see our friends and neighbors connect or reconnect with God.

The Summit Isn't the Story

Most of us love a story that ends at the summit. We like the finish line, the medal, the picture, and the clean testimony where everything comes together. But life does not always give us that kind of ending. Sometimes we train and still do not finish. Sometimes we pray and still do not get the answer we hoped for. Sometimes we give our best and still come up short.

In this message, we are reminded that God does not only work when we reach the summit. God works in the climb. The training still counts. The discipline still counts. The humility, endurance, prayer, disappointment, and growth still count. An unfinished climb does not mean a wasted journey.

God is not just trying to make us successful. He is forming us to be faithful.

Before You Climb

Life is filled with uphill climbs. Some are physical, but most are spiritual, emotional, relational, or financial. We all start the race with excitement, but what happens when the climb gets steep? What do we do when we're tired, discouraged, tempted to quit, or wondering if all our effort is worth it? The book of Hebrews was written to believers facing those same questions. They were tempted to stop running. Stop believing. Stop following. Hebrews reminds us that God isn't looking for people who start strong; He's looking for people who finish well.

THE BIG IDEA: To finish the race, run by faith.

We all know what it is like to subscribe to something without fully using it. We pay for memberships, apps, plans, and services that quietly stay connected to our lives even when we barely engage with them. But this message pushes that idea deeper. Sometimes the most expensive subscriptions are not the ones on our bank accounts; they are the ones on our hearts.

Comfort, control, approval, success, money, fear, and security can quietly shape the way we think, live, give, serve, and follow Jesus. In Matthew 19, Jesus meets a young man who had done a lot right, but still had one thing holding first place in his heart. Jesus did not expose it to shame him. He exposed it to free him. The same invitation is offered to us: “Come, follow Me.”

THE BIG IDEA: Some subscriptions are costing you more than money.
