<p>Zij zijn samen met 'Because We Carry' duo op Lesbos en zij is directeur van Fenix Humanitarian Legal Aid. Bevlogen, idealistisch en vastbesloten het leven van vrouwen op de vlucht een beetje beter te maken. Vandaag komen zij aan het woord om te vertellen hoeveel zij terug krijgen voor het harde werken op het Griekse eiland, wat de grootste obstakels zijn voor mensen op de vlucht en wat de ongekende omstandigheden zijn op kamp Mavrovouni. </p><p> </p><p>Because We Carry is opgericht in 2015. De organisatie richt zich op het helpen van moeders en kinderen op de vlucht door middel van noodhulp, kleding, kinderwagens, luiers, maar ook zorg, kennis en een boel liefde, aldus de stichting. Hun juridische bondgenoot, Fenix, staat voor een holistische benadering van rechtsbijstand en pleit voor een meer menselijke kijk op asielzoekers en hun procedures. </p><p> </p><p>Wie zijn zij? #18 Theater als middel om te helen na vluchten, overleven en oorlog. Bright Richards neemt je mee!
<p>Hij is mede-oprichter, artistiek directeur en bestuurder van de stichting New Dutch Connections en ook Officier in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau. Hij is een geboren entertainer, acteur, regisseur, schrijver en trainer. In 1991 komt hij naar Nederland nadat hij zijn land van herkomst, Liberia, is ontvlucht. Op een innemende manier vertelt hij over wat hongersnood met hem heeft gedaan, hoeveel zinloos geweld hij heeft gezien en hoe nachtmerries hem misschien wel levenslang achtervolgen. </p><p>Thuis is bij zijn vrouw en kinderen. Hij inspireert de luisteraar bovendien met zijn verhalen over hoe het inzetten van theater hem, en vele andere mensen op de vlucht, hebben geheeld. Maar ook over kansen, spiritualiteit en het eten van 'fufu'. Een mooi gesprek met een vrolijke zonnestraal die zo je hart binnendringt! </p><p>Wie is hij? Hij is Bright Richards.
