40. Local Elections Matter ft. Jennifer Figueroa & Rich Vargus
In this episode I welcomed two of my local candidates, Jennifer Figueroa and Rich Vargus, to share their visions for our community and give them a platform to express the ideas they’re campaigning on. Their candid conversation highlighted pressing issues and shared innovative ideas that will resonate with many residents.
Jennifer Figueroa, running for New York State Senate here in the 42nd district, expressed her motivation stemming from conversations with community members. She expressed that so many people feel unheard and upset about changes in our neighborhood, especially with rapid overdevelopment and affordability issues.
Rich Vargus, a candidate for the New York State Assembly here in the 99th district, echoed these sentiments. He emphasized the importance of addressing public safety concerns and the impact of policies like cashless bail.
Both candidates identified critical issues affecting our community.
As they campaign for office, both Figueroa and Vargus are committed to listening to their constituents and addressing the real issues facing everyday people like you and I. Their shared vision is not just about winning an election but about cultivating a community where every voice is heard.

38. Fighting Back Against The DSA
The rise of socialism in America is not something to blindly ignore. In this episode, I deliver a fiery, direct warning about what I see in the platform of the Democratic Socialists of America, and why staying home on election day is a mistake one may not be able to undo.
If you want a say in America’s future, you have to show up now. Voting is a privilege protected by generations of sacrifice. Local elections, primaries, congressional & senate races matter just as much as presidential races.
I walk through the DSA agenda point by point, including proposals around healthcare, housing, policing, immigration, the Green New Deal, the Electoral College, and economic democracy. These policies would reshape the country, weaken individual liberty, and concentrate power in ways most voters do not fully understand.
