#6 (S2) Migratie en sociale rechten - Dr. Annick Pijnenburg
Met Annick Pijnenburg, universitair docent internationaal en Europees recht aan de Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen, praat ik over haar onderzoek op het snijvlak tussen mensenrechten en migratie. In het bijzonder praten we over de rol van sociale rechten en migratiedeals, thema's die in haar proefschrift centraal stonden. Ook hebben we het over aansprakelijkheid voor mensenrechtenschendingen: welke Staat kun je waarvoor verantwoordelijk houden en welke uitdagingen komen daarbij kijken? Het interview namen we maanden geleden al op, maar het moge duidelijk zijn: grondrechten en migratie blijft een bijzonder actueel thema.

#5 (S2) Ondernemingen, mensenrechten en verantwoordelijkheid – Dr. Lucas Roorda
Lucas Roorda is universitair docent bij het Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law (UCALL) van de Universiteit Utrecht. Hij is geïnteresseerd in de intersectie van mensenrechten en aansprakelijkheid en doet onderzoek naar transnationale rechtszaken tegen ondernemingen die zich schuldig maken aan mensenrechten. We praten over business and human rights, over hoe dit raakt aan allerlei rechtsgebieden, zoals het civiele en het strafrecht, en een belangrijke lens vormt bij het beschermen van mensenrechten. Uiteraard praten we over zaken als Milieudefensie t. Royal Dutch Shell, maar ook over internationale ontwikkelingen met betrekking tot ondernemingen en mensenrechten, en hoe die vertaald kunnen worden naar nationale mensenrechtenbescherming.

#4 (S2) Mensenrechten en mega-sporting events – Dr. Daniela Heerdt
Daniela Heerdt promoveerde op een onderzoek naar mensenrechten en mega-sporting events. Met wat voor schendingen hebben we te maken in die context, en wie is daarvoor verantwoordelijk en aansprakelijk? Kunnen grote sportevenementen zoals een WK of de Olympische Spelen ook zorgen voor meer mensenrechtenbescherming? Daniela doet suggesties en linkt de bevindingen uit haar proefschrift aan de discussie over business and human rights. Zij werkt inmiddels als consultant in de wereld van sport en mensenrechten, en pleit voor meer onderwijs over dit onderwerp. (In English)
