04. Vanessa the Vice-President
On the fourth episode of the podcast, we are joined by Vanessa Bukasa; the Vice-President of the Absa Group. She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with an undergraduate degree in Accounting Sciences subsequently pursuing her designation as a CA(SA). It was such a delight learning about Vanessa’s journey which, like many of ours, was not linear. She reminds us of the power of perspective and that we deserve to see ourselves flourish in what we do. We discuss everything from her position as VP to trainee articles to celebrating oneself. This was a truly reassuring conversation that’s dedicated to all the PGDA students currently in their week of finals - you can do it!

Karl is an Investment Associate, IMM (Impact Measuring and Management) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Manager at Goodwell Investments. He graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor in Business Science majoring in Finance and has since explored various entrepreneurial ventures as well. Drawing from his journey, he shares about his path to Goodwell, balancing exposure and experience in the job hunt, how less is more and even turns the tables as host inviting a moment of reflection for Kiese.
