We do not refer to attacks or symptoms of Migraine as ¨migraines¨ or ¨a migraine¨. We refer to them as Migraine attacks, episodes, flares, or symptoms.

Why?

Migraine disease is a chronic neurological condition that causes a brain to be sensitive and reactive to triggers, causing attacks and symptoms to occur.

When we refer to Migraine attacks as ¨migraines¨ or ¨a migraine¨ it implies that attacks are acute, repetitive, singular, events, rather than being caused by a chronic, complex neurological condition that the brain is always navigating.

Please be aware that our guests might not always use the same language when speaking about Migraine. Please be patient, we are all learning together.

Disclaimer: All views discussed in podcast episodes represent the interviewee's perspective, not the podcast hosts. Topics discussed are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified health provider with any questions you have about a new treatment or medical condition.
