Welcome to 2 Day Rental, the podcast where two geeky dads, Cory and Steve, dig through the dusty shelves of pop culture—past and present. From VHS-era classics to streaming hits, toy aisles to trailer drops, we talk movies, TV, games, and the glorious chaos of parenting through it all.
Expect opinions, nostalgia, late-night debates, and questionable takes—served fresh like a Friday night rental and returned late every time. No interviews. No experts. Just two guys figuring it out, one rewind at a time.
Episode 154 kicks off with a pain every parent knows too well: stepping on LEGO with bare feet. 152. Toon Town, Toys & Teaser Talk
We’re back for Episode 152, coming down from Halloween sugar highs and baseball heartbreak. We kick things off by swapping stories from our Halloween nights — costumes, kids, and candy tax — and then break down the final games of the World Series, including how close (and how far) the Blue Jays felt from being there.
Then it’s over to Channel 2 Day Rental News, and it’s a full shelf this week:
• 🪀 2025 Toy Hall of Fame Inductees — we compare the real picks to our ballot and see who got snubbed.
• 🧱 LEGO Ideas: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord — is this the crossover masterpiece our toy shelves deserve?
• 🦸 Avengers: Doomsday teaser rumors — when might we see it, and what needs to be in it for Marvel to win us back?
In Previously Viewed, we revisit the groundbreaking blend of live-action and animation — Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). We talk Jessica Rabbit, Judge Doom trauma, cartoon chaos, and why this movie still feels like lightning in a bottle.
Then we crank the wheel for this month’s Reel of Fortune: Brovember Edition, lining up a fresh batch of movies to kick off the month. And to wrap things up, we answer a listener question straight from the Community Drop Box.
