2-12: #The Death of Death of the Author Discourse

On this episode of Open Tabs, Sydney's really fucking done with people completely misintrepreting some dead French guy's essay so they can keep buying shitty wizard-branded plastic and watch the newest attempt to reboot the shitty wizard show AKA Sydney and Bugs just read and discuss the entire, ACTUAL text of Death of the Author. Buckle up folks, its real academic hours in here! Huge shout out to University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Science's Center for Programs in Contemporary (CPCW) for hosting a full, free access copy of a translation of Barthes's original 1967 'The Death of the Author' essay. (if you like to check it out yourself or have it open to follow along with us you can check it out at the link here: https://writing.upenn.edu/~taransky/Barthes.pdf) If you have any questions, comments, or fic recommendations you can drop us a line at opentabscast@gmail.com or if you'd like to support our silly little podcast you can check us out at over at Patreon! www.patreon.com/OpenTabsCast This podcast and this episode cover adult themes and discuss explicit content: listener discretion is advised.
