<p>Join Liz and Julia as they sit down with LTC (Ret.) Jason Sama. With a distinguished career spanning 23 years, Jason brings a wealth of experience and leadership expertise to the table. Hailing from Holbrook, Long Island, Jason embarked on his journey with a commission from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1999, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Law and Administration, complemented by a minor in Environmental Engineering. Furthering his education, Jason pursued a Master’s degree in business and security administration from Webster University, as well as a Master’s degree in National Security and Resource Strategy.</p><p>Throughout his military tenure, Jason held diverse leadership roles, demonstrating his ability to lead in challenging environments. As a Platoon Leader with the 101st Airborne Division in Kandahar, Afghanistan, he oversaw critical missions in a high-stakes operational theater. Later, as Company Commander of the 410th Military Police Company in Baghdad, Iraq, Jason implemented strategic initiatives to enhance security and foster stability in a volatile region. His tenure as Battalion Commander of the Army Protective Services Battalion saw him leading comprehensive executive protection measures, ensuring the safety of high-ranking Department of Defense officials amidst evolving security challenges.</p><p>Transitioning to pivotal staff-oriented roles, Jason served as Division Chief of Antiterrorism Force Protection on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. In this capacity, he served as the primary law enforcement liaison for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, playing a vital role in bolstering the security posture of military officials and fostering a culture of preparedness across the Department of Defense.</p><p>Jason's military career took him to various locations, including Yongsan, Korea, Ft. Cavazos, TX, Quantico, VA, Ft. Stewart, GA, and Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Each assignment presented unique challenges and opportunities for growth, further shaping his leadership approach and resilience.</p><p>Beyond his military service, Jason finds fulfillment in family life. Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Sama is married to Erges Sama and has a stepdaughter, Ema, who also attends Wakefield and is now in 6th Grade. Together with their pets Koko, Lily, and Sheba, they call Haymarket, Virginia, home.</p><p>Jason's journey exemplifies the transformative power of leadership, resilience, and lifelong learning. <p>Join Liz and Riley as they sit down with retired Marine Captain Randy Dominick. Mr. Dominick graduated from Old Dominion University in 1991, and after graduation, he proudly served 5 years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps. He served as a Rifle Platoon Commander and Anti-Armor Platoon Commander with 3rd Battalion 5th Marines, and Company Executive Officer in the Marine Combat Training Battalion of the School of Infantry. Mr. Dominick is the President of Traffic Systems &amp; Technology (TS&amp;T). He has more than 25 years of experience in the sale and distribution of ITS, Traffic, and Lighting product solutions. He is an owner of TST Transport, a trucking company created to improve the delivery reliability and quality of service of highway pole structures. In addition, he is a Principal and Co-owner of DePorter, Dominick &amp; Associates (DDA), a lighting rep agency specializing in DOT and Municipal lighting. Randy and his wife have 3 wonderful adult children. Randy sits on the Board of a local charitable non-profit and embraces the spirit of volunteerism. His hobbies are boating, shooting, and woodworking.</p><p>---</p><p>The mission of The 9:57 Project is to connect Veterans with young people in order to perpetuate Courage, Resilience, Service, Teamwork, and the legacy of Flight 93. At 9:57 AM on 9/11, the passengers and crew of Flight 93 fought back, saving the U.S. Capitol Building and preventing further loss of life. Their actions were the first successful counterattack in the War on Terror. Our Veterans share the "Spirit of 9:57" with young people in order to perpetuate this legacy and the leadership traits exhibited on board the plane that day. <p>Join Julia and Ava as they sit down with Colonel (Ret.) Craig Osborne. Col. Osborne was commissioned as an infantry officer by the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program at Illinois State University in 1989. He served on active duty for 30 years in a variety of command and staff positions in peace, peace enforcement, humanitarian, and combat operations. He first deployed to Saudi Arabia in 1991 as part of the lead task force in Operation Desert Shield and later served nearly five total years in combat as part of Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. During his service, Colonel Osborne commanded units ranging from platoon to brigade and served as a staff officer at the battalion, brigade, division, and combatant command levels in addition to an assignment on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. His awards and decorations include five Bronze Star medals, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge with Star, the Ranger Tab, the Senior Parachutist’s Badge, and the Pathfinder Badge; he is also a recipient of the prestigious Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award for the Army. Colonel Osborne has earned four master’s degrees and is currently pursuing a doctorate at Creighton University.</p><p>--</p><p>The 9:57 Project is mobilizing Veterans to inspire the next generation.
