EP. 79 - Avigail Scheinfeld on Finding Her Voice After October 7
Avigail Scheinfeld is an Israeli singer, DJ, vocal coach, and music producer who has spent much of her life bringing women together through music. In this episode of Orange Socks, Avigail shares how October 7 changed her life, as her husband was called into military service and she made the unexpected decision to leave her steady job and devote herself fully to music.
We explore the extraordinary power of music to bring comfort, connection, and hope during difficult times. Avigail shares the deeply personal experiences of raising three daughters while her husband serves in the IDF reserves, the remarkable story behind her daughter's name, and the inspiration for her newest song, Hakachol V'Halavan (The Blue and the White). Through it all, she reflects on Jewish pride, resilience, and the determination to continue celebrating life even in the face of unimaginable loss.
It's a moving conversation about finding your purpose, using your gifts to make a difference, and discovering that sometimes art isn't simply something we enjoy—it's something we need. As always, it's about finding your orange socks by leaning into who you already are.
About Avigail:
My name is Avigail, a religious singer from Tzur Hadassah in Israel. I perform live for women only. I've been singing and performing for 20 years. I am also a DJ, a vocal coach and music producer. I'm the official singer at OU women events in Israel. I am the proud wife of a soldier who has done over 500 days of reserves (Miluim) since October 7th. I am a proud mother to 3 beautiful girls, b"H. Music is my passion, my way to express my Emunah, and I hope to give much Chizuk through my music to those who hear it. I released a song on October 7th of this year, as a statement to those who tried to destroy us- we are here, we are home, and we are here to stay. The blue and the white will be ours for life! הכחול והלבן הם שלנו לעד
My new release from Oct 7th, Hakachol V'Halavan (the blue and the white)
