What followed was nothing short of a miracle.<br>“The miracle is that God took somebody like me, who had no interest and no desire in any of this, and transformed me into filling a need that was there.”<br>Through her growing relationship with God, Gerry discovered a new sense of purpose and a deep passion for service. Abbot Cletus has been a Benedictine monk since 1964, a priest since 1971, and has served more than 25 years as the abbot at St. Bernard (BER-nard) Abbey in Cullman, Alabama. He was elected as the Ninth Abbot of St. Bernard Abbey and served as their Abbot from 1995 until his retirement in 2019.</p>
