34 | My Walk With God: Still Learning, Still Growing, and Not Ashamed.
I've always had God in my life, but having God in your life and truly building a relationship with Him are two different things. And that's something I'm learning. I have come a LONG WAY.
In my twenties, I was saved and baptized. But somewhere along the way, I strayed. I never stopped believing in God, but if I'm being real, there were plenty of times I only turned to Him when life got hard, when I was struggling, or when I needed something.
Now, I'm at a place in my life where I genuinely want to know Him better. I'm reading my Bible, asking questions, learning to understand Scripture, and working on building a relationship with God that goes beyond just calling on Him when things aren't going my way.
And here's the thing. I'm not perfect. I don't have all the answers. I'm still learning, still growing, and still figuring things out.
But one thing I do know is that I'm not ashamed to publicly say that I believe in Jesus Christ.
In this episode, I'm opening up about my personal walk with God, where I've been, where I am now, and why I'm choosing to share this part of my life. Also, talking about how we go through a stage of trying to figure out what is "right" vs "wrong".
This isn't about preaching to anyone or pretending I have it all together. It's simply about sharing my journey, being honest about my imperfections, and growing in my faith one day at a time.
Because you don't have to have everything figured out to start building a deeper relationship with God.

33 | Character Over Color: Can We Stop Making Everything About Race?
Ready for some REAL talk!
n this episode of Unscripted After 50, I share my personal experiences growing up mixed and navigating racism from different directions. What it felt like to be told I wasn't Black enough or white enough, and how that shaped me. This isn't about politics. It's about people. I talk about why I don't like the N-word in any form, why I try to judge people by their character and not their colour, and why I choose to support people and businesses based on integrity, not labels. It may be uncomfortable at times, but it's honest. And my hope is simple. That we get better at seeing each other clearly and treating each other well, character over colour. And as a quick takeaway, you don't have to ignore someone's story to treat them as a whole person.
