Send us a message! We show up in Panama City with kids during Semana Santa and immediately learn the most important lesson: the city does not care about your check-in time. Streets close, parades take over Casco Viejo, and we end up hauling luggage through cobblestones and crowds… until a local “Angel Gabriel” steps in and turns near-disaster into a smooth arrival. If you’ve ever wondered whether family travel can be both chaotic and worth it, this story answers that fast. We also get practi...

From The British Open To Paris With Kids
Send us a message! A single lucky win can hijack your entire summer travel plan in the best way. Kathleen’s family lands British Open tickets and suddenly the “we’re going to England” idea expands into a full Europe itinerary with kids: a road trip through the English countryside, a reset on the beaches of Portugal’s Algarve, and a Paris finale built around the one thing her girls request instantly, the Eiffel Tower. We walk through how the trip actually gets stitched together, from choosing...

Costa Rica With Little Kids
Send us a message! Five kids ages one and a half to six. Two families. One first international trip that could have gone off the rails at any moment, and somehow became the reason we keep booking flights. In this episode, we’re telling the full story of our Costa Rica vacation in Tamarindo, the “training wheels” trip that made traveling abroad with young kids feel possible. We get specific about what made it work: direct flights from southern California, a one-hour time difference, a destina...

A Realistic Family Guide To Napa And Sonoma
Send us a message! Taking kids to Napa and Sonoma wine country can sound like a terrible idea right up until you plan it like a real family trip, not a fantasy. We’re giving you the honest play-by-play: how we approach wineries with kids and what “read the room” actually looks like. We get practical fast with Napa/Sonoma travel logistics, including which airports make the most sense, how we use the drive as a built-in “car nap,” and why picking a home base matters in a region that’s more spr...

Ambergris Caye, Belize With Kids
Send us a message! The Belize island part of our trip started with a water taxi that felt like a theme park ride: bumpy, crowded, and somehow still fun. From the moment we arrived on Ambergris Caye (San Pedro), we realized the real challenge wasn’t finding beauty, it was managing family travel logistics with kids, luggage, heat, and schedules that change on the fly. We share what we learned about ferry boarding, resort pickups, grocery timing, and the simple systems that kept our group sane. ...

A Kid Friendly New England Summer In Gloucester Massachusetts
Send us a message! A town where lobster shows up in your breakfast, lunch, and dinner is already a strong start but Gloucester, Massachusetts delivers way more than seafood. Kathleen interviews Melissa about a June family trip to Cape Anne that feels like pure New England summer: salty air, kids in sweatshirts on the beach, and that relaxed rhythm you only get when your rental house is steps from the water. We get specific about what actually works with kids, from flying direct into Boston a...

Panama With Kids: How to get there and where to stay!
Send us a message! We started spring break planning the way a lot of parents do: with a big dream destination, a group text, and the quiet question of what will actually work with kids. Fiji nearly stole the show until we looked hard at the overnight flights, the time change, and the price tag for a one week trip. Costa Rica was next, because it’s one of our favorite family travel destinations, but we wanted a new country and a fresh kind of adventure. That’s how Panama climbed to the top. W...

Mammoth Mountain: Skiing with Family
Send us a message! Snow may be fickle, but a great Mammoth trip doesn’t have to be. We break down how to design a stress-free family ski getaway—from the moment you pull onto Highway 395 to the last hot tub soak—so you spend less time wrangling gear and more time making memories. Instead of white-knuckling the 5 hour drive from Southern California, we turn it into the opening chapter of the adventure: a coffee-and-waffle fix in Ridgecrest, a quick Mobius Arch stroll in Lone Pine and Bishop s...

We start with the small truths that make a big difference: English is widely spoken, the sun holds a steady 6-to-6 schedule, and U.S. dollars ...

Destination Belize: Family Travel Prep
Send us a message! Planning a family trip shouldn’t feel like a high-wire act. We break down how we designed a joyful Belize adventure by thinking like project managers: shared documents for research, clear budgets before booking, nap-first schedules, and time carved out for adults to recharge. The result? A two-part itinerary that blends jungle eco-lodges near San Ignacio with island life on Ambergris Caye, without burning out parents or kids. We start with the why: Central America has shor...

The Adventure Starts Here
Send us a message! Parenting is hard, so we decided to do it somewhere beautiful. Our debut brings you into the origin story of two moms who traded perfection for passports, explaining how we moved from baby-year nesting to confident family travel without losing our sense of humor—or our nap schedules. You’ll meet Kathleen, the “just say yes” traveler who fell in love with the world through study abroad, and Melissa, the research queen who collects flight deals at 2 a.m. Together we unpack th...
