Goodbyes are not forever, Grace Knight.

Hello everyone! Welcome to Oriental Here We Go!, your school podcast! I am Stefanie Ylarrza and on this new episode, we are going to talk about someone that is very special to our Orientalista community, I am talking about Grace Knight and also about all those volunteers that were here in our country, especially in our town Santo Tomás.

For those of you who don’t know Grace Knight, let me tell you a little bit about her. She came to Colombia in 2018. Since she arrived in Santo Tomás, she won our hearts and minds because she always shared with us her great qualities and feelings. She is the best Peace Corps volunteer because she always took care of us. Grace is the best combination of smart and fun. During our English classes, we learned a lot about her. She always shared with us information related to her country, U.S.A. What we most love about her is that she is unstoppable, active and creative. She always thinks out of the box and finds solutions for every single problem.

Additionally, she does not have limits in her dreams. She is a great English teacher and she is very good at gym lessons, too. Also, she is a good dancer, singer, and photographer. She is very generous because she shared her own talents with us. I was her student in one of her community classes and also in Oriental school, that’s why I am very grateful for having her as my teacher. I can say that she is my friend and I consider her that she is one of my family members. I know that all the Orientalista community is grateful for all that she did during her volunteering time and service here in Santo Tomás. She ended up her service being our Carnival Queen 2020, and we all loved it.

Grace Knight, We all want to say THANK YOU for being part of our lives! Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean We will be missing you until we see you again.
