Its abandoned code still ran on the corporate network, untouched because nobody knew what newer systems relied on it. Several unpatched holes gave her root access to the servers. It proved relatively easy to trace the packets from Jean's apartment to the therapy system. From there, she found the development environment, made herself an admin, and accessed the source.
