<p><strong>Edwin Howard Armstrong</strong> foi um engenheiro eletricista estadunidense que inventou o processo de transmissão de sinais de rádio por frequência modulada rádio FM. <br> <br> Nasceu na cidade de Nova Iorque em 1890. Estudou na Universidade Columbia onde também se tornou professor. <br> <br> Inventou o circuito regenerativo patenteado em 1914, o circuito super regenerativo em 1922 e o receptor super heteródino em 1918. Suicidou-se em 1954 pulando da janela de seu apartamento no décimo terceiro andar.</p>
