？ We switched the roles to take the test! See results!

Let’s try 16 personalities together - The first half.
🔗 https://www.16personalities.com/ja
✳️ひとつ訂正→ You rarely worry about whether you make a good impression on people you meet.

The differences between Japanese and American education system.
🏫 The differences between American education and Japanese education. We mainly talk about what subjects we learn, how differently they are and events that will be taken place at school. I thought they both should be almost the same, but as we talk about it, I learned that there’s quite a difference between them.

Inviting people to lunch, dinner, party and whatever
🌸🎉April is considered a month of meeting new people here in Japan, because most students will go up a grade or get into high school or college and some people start to work at new places. Meeting new people and making new friends is always fun, but at the same time, I wonder how I can invite people to do things together without being awkward. The definition of happiness
「Beyond the Tiger Mom: East-West Parenting for the Global Age」
🌈 The topic for today is the definition of happiness. Brody and I discussed it before and it actually made me think about it further. As we discussed over the definition of happiness, some things I wasn’t sure of have become clear. Since the topic is a bit too serious, it might be hard for you to listen to this till the end, but I hope it will encourage you to think about "what makes YOU happy". It’s not what others or society defines, but "the happiness which YOU define on your own".

Hi this is Mina! Do you make small talk with strangers? Not only strangers, but with your colleagues and acquaintances, can you start a conversation and end it smoothly in a smart way? Somehow I feel overwhelmed when strangers come up to me and we happen to have small talk there and then. I don’t remember what was so funny, but I bursted into laughter in the end. It was fun! 😂

The go-to dating spots
❤️👩❤️👨👨🏿🤝👨🏼👩❤️👩👫🏻👨❤️👨👩🏻🤝👩🏽❤️
🗣 The topic for today is go-to dating spots. We still have been discouraged to go out to have fun actively since the outbreak of COVID-19 was serious. Having said that, we still came up with some ideas as we were chatting about dating spots. It’s funny how the subject shifted from dating spots to some random personal matters here and there.
💡When is the last time you’ve been on a date?
💡What if your interest is far different from the other?
💡Dating spots can vary depending on your age as well as you work or not.
💡Should men pay on a first date? Is it chivalrous?
💡Indoor activities VS Outdoor activities
💡Plans to make? Places to go?

Hi it’s Mina being more conscious about how to introduce myself properly after knowing this 8-second rule of impressions. Today we talked about how to introduce yourself both in an informal situation and a formal situation.
In Japanese, we usually start with our family names to introduce ourselves, but in an informal situation, starting with your first name is becoming common too.

What’s up?

I wonder why Ohayougozaimasu is always used as a routine phrase referring to Hello no matter what time it is (only) at work..?

(Aeteureshiidesu.)
🇺🇸It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

🧸🗣 The topic for today is Disneyland. Mina has been to Tokyo Disney Resort about four times so far, thinking of it as quite a trip especially because she was born and raised in Kansai, so she had to go all the way to Tokyo to have fun at TDR. (TDR is geographically located in Chiba prefecture.) On the other hand for Brody, Disneyland is more accessible and nostalgic. He had been to Disneyland multiple times when he was living in LA. We'll talk about some memories of the Disneyland parks and some of our favorite aspects of each, including some differences between Japan and America! We'll also discuss some of our favorite things about the park as well as some recommendations!

Outgrowing friendships
Brody
🗣Do you think friendships will never end? There’s no right answer for it. Sometimes you outgrow a friendship as the environment changes, but people come and go through your life that’s pretty common. Mina believes that the more she gets older, the more she feels like making friends gets difficult, meanwhile Brody says aging has nothing to do with making new friends. He also brought up a study called "Dunbar’s number" done by Robin Ian MacDonald Dunbar.

Convenience Stores in Japan
On our very first episode, we talk about the convenience stores in Japan. "Conbini" is a short term for a convenience store which is commonly used by Japanese. Firstly, we discuss the most popular "conbinis" in Japan and what are the differences in convenience stores between the US and Japan. Subsequently, what type of people tend to go, when to go and our favorites and recommended items will be revealed.
✅ Also, regarding the odd marketing system attached to a cash register where Mina had to type in based on customers' genders and ages, these have been gradually removed since 2018.
