IV. Murad Bölüm 2 - Osmanlı Padişahları 25. Bölüm
4. Murad'ın ikinci büyük seferi Bağdat üzerine yapıldı. 8 Mayıs 1638 tarihinde büyük fetihler devrini hatırlatan ve sefer boyunca miktarı artacak olan muazzam ordusuyla Bağdat'a doğru hareket etti. 6 Kasım 1638 de Musul'a ulaştı. Padişah 15 Kasım günü İmam-ı Azam Türbesi karşısındaki otağına indi. 4. Murad Bağdat önünde kuşatmanın bütün safhalarını yakından takip etti. 24 Aralık 1638 Cuma günü fetih gerçekleşti. 4. Murad fethin ardından kalenin ve İmam-ı Azamla Abdulkadir Geylani türbelerinin tamiriyle meşgul oldu. 17 Ocak 1639 da İstanbul'a doğru hareket etti.

IV. Murad - Osmanlı Padişahları 24. Bölüm
Sultan IV. Murad, 27 Temmuz 1612'de İstanbul'da doğdu. I. Ahmed ile Mahpeyker Kösem Sultan'ın oğludur. Şehzadelik hayatı hakkında kaynaklarda fazla bilgi yoktur. Amcası I. Mustafa'nın akli dengesi yerinde olmadığından küçük yaşta olmasına rağmen muhtemelen annesi Kösem Sultan'ın tesiriyle 10 Eylül 1623'te tahta çıkarıldı. Ertesi gün Eyüp Sultan Türbesinde Aziz Mahmut Hüdaî eliyle kılıç kuşandı. Saltanatının ilk yıllarında idare daha çok annesinin etkisi altındaki devlet adamlarının elinde kaldı. 1632 yılına kadar devam eden bu 9 yıllık süre boyunca devrin olaylarında herhangi bir tesiri olmadı. Yönetimi tam anlamıyla Mayıs 1632'den itibaren ele aldı... Allah Sultan IV. Murad'a ve nesline rahmet eylesin.

II. Osman - Osmanlı Padişahları 23. Bölüm
Sultan Genç Osman, 3 Kasım 1604 Çarşamba günü İstanbul'da doğdu. Babası I. Ahmed, annesi Mahfiruz Sultan'dır. Babası I. Ahmed'in vefatı üzerine tahta çıkabilecek durumdaki büyük şehzade olmasına rağmen Osmanlı saltanat sisteminde ilk defa vuku bulan bir uygulamayla amcası I. Mustafa'nın tahta çıkarılmış olması onun üzerinde büyük etki yaptı. Amcası akli dengesizliği sebebiyle 96 gün süren ilk saltanatının sonunda tahttan indirilince 26 Şubat 1618'de II. Osman, tahta çıktı. Allah II. Osman'a rahmet eylesin.
