23: S1E23 – Below the World of Men

Some truths should never see the light. In this chilling double feature from the shadowy edges of Otis Jiry’s Tales From Duskwood, we descend—literally and figuratively—into the hidden places beneath our feet and behind our minds. Beneath Rome’s ancient stones, a rivalry turns deadly in a place no map dares mark. And far beneath the hills of England, something stirs in the dark, older than empire… and far less patient. Host Otis Jiry guides you through two forgotten corridors of terror, each penned by the legendary Sir Arthur Conan Doyle—not of pipe and magnifying glass, but of claw, echo, and silence. PODCAST SUMMARY “The New Catacomb” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle – Rival archaeologists Kennedy and Burger share a passion for uncovering Rome’s forgotten past—but their friendship masks deeper tensions. When Burger reveals he’s discovered a previously unknown catacomb, Kennedy is eager to see it for himself, unaware of how personal the expedition is about to become. A gripping tale of ego, betrayal, and the terrible things buried beneath both cities and souls, this story reminds us that some secrets are kept hidden for a reason. “The Terror of Blue John Gap” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle – Sent to the English countryside to recover from illness, Dr. James Hardcastle finds peace among the moors—until strange sounds and missing livestock lead him to a Roman mine long abandoned. As he investigates the mysterious cavern known as Blue John Gap, scientific curiosity gives way to dread. Blending cosmic unease with rural folklore, this slow-burning descent into isolation and obsession explores what happens when reason confronts the unimaginable.

   22: S1E22 – The Cost of Remembrance

What would you trade to forget a name? What price would you pay to remember one? In this haunting installment from the shores of Twilight Lake, Otis Jiry invites you to explore the slippery, sacred terrain of memory—the way it binds us, betrays us, and makes us who we are. Tonight’s twin tales wind through static-laced phone lines and fog-choked coastal roads, each unraveling the fragile threads that tether us to truth and identity. But be warned, dear camper: some memories fight to be kept. Others… demand to be erased. Gather close to the fire—because tonight, remembering might be the scariest thing of all. PODCAST SUMMARY "The Number You Have Dialed" by Rowan Wells – When Ryan Marteni inherits his uncle’s secluded farmhouse, he expects solitude—maybe even a fresh start. What he doesn’t expect is a strange note, an old rotary phone, and a cryptic phone number that connects him to a customer service line offering... removals. Curious at first, Ryan soon discovers the calls come with perks—and consequences. As the line between convenience and control begins to blur, he’s pulled into a chilling system where memory is currency, identity is negotiable, and escape may no longer be an option. A smart, spiraling descent into transactional horror and psychological erosion. "The Mystery of Severblight" by Charlotte Morrow – After receiving a package from a father long presumed dead, researcher Eleanor Faulkner journeys north to find a town that officially doesn’t exist. What she finds instead is a fog-draped village lost to time, where the tide conceals more than just sand—and forgetting is not just a risk, but a ritual. As Ellie delves deeper into the secrets of Severblight, she uncovers ancient bargains, fractured identities, and a choice that may alter her sense of self forever. A beautifully unsettling tale of mythic memory, inherited loss, and the haunting power of remembrance.

   21: S1E21 – Uneven Trades

In this chilling installment of Tales From Duskwood, master storyteller Otis Jiry invites you to settle in by the fire for two unnerving tales of deals gone wrong, where the balance between cost and consequence is anything but fair. First, a simple night around the campfire turns sinister when an old legend is challenged—unleashing something that should have remained buried. Then, a trio of ghost hunters checks into a notorious hotel, hoping for proof of the paranormal. What they find instead is a descent into shadows, where the real horrors might not be the ones they came looking for. Every trade has a price. Tonight, two of them are about to be paid in full. So ask yourself: what would you give… to know the truth? PODCAST SUMMARY “Monstruo” by Blair Daniels – During a late-night campfire deep in the Texas woods, three friends debate the legend of a cursed tree said to bleed with the blood of its victims. One of them is determined to prove the tale is just folklore—but some stories were never meant to be tested. A brooding tale of urban legend, guilt, and the cost of disbelief, Monstruo reminds us that some warnings are carved in blood for a reason. “The Haunting of Room 812” by Blair Daniels and Craig Groshek – A trio of paranormal investigators checks into the most infamous hotel room in South Dakota, hoping to catch their big break on camera. But when a series of strange events begins to blur the line between myth and reality, one of them finds himself trapped in a place where betrayal lingers and the past never stays buried. A nightmarish journey through haunted hallways and hidden motives, this story explores what happens when the scariest ghosts wear familiar faces.
