From the hilarious to the heartfelt, to the sexy, to the weird, Our Flag Means Death fanfiction is some of the most interesting literature being written right now. The Our Flag Means Fanfiction Podcast explores this spectacular art form and discusses the hosts’ favorite Our Flag fics. We also chat about the characters, the fandom, and everything we love about the greatest series of all time: Our Flag Means Death.
The Black Pete Episode (the man with the biggest character arc?)
We’re talking about our favorite whittler, he who has perfect aim, Blackbeard's right-hand man — it’s the Black Pete episode!
On the pod this week is….
Gutis (cheesecake3 (https://bsky.app/profile/mystictrashmoon.bsky.social)) - who doesn’t brag about things but can actually do them all
Judy (judysoranges (https://bsky.app/profile/judysoranges.bsky.social))- who didn’t even know piracy was happening?
And I'm Bel (perilousnwicked (https://bsky.app/profile/perilousnwicked.bsky.social)), a braggart myself, so I relate to Pete.

The "F*ck the Fandom Police" Episode
Today’s episode of the Our Flag Means Fanfiction podcast is tailor-made for our oppositional defiant fandom friends! It’s the fuck the fandom police episode! We’re talking Fandom Karens (gender neutral), Pearl clutching, Fandom purity policing, gatekeeping, community moderators, fandom “elders” and basically everyone involved in fandom spaces who has an enormous stick of Brazilian Cherrywood inserted firmly up their grass!
Importantly, we’ll be discussing the subtle ways fandom policing manifests — the fandom panopticon effect if you will — and how to push back against it, dismantle it, and call it out so fandom spaces can become the anarcho-communist utopia they were meant to be.
