Særafsnit: Er der plads til handicap i de levendes verden?
Tag med Outcast til Regensens symposion den 14. oktober 2023. Afsnittet består af en live-optagelse af samtalen mellem aktivist Sarah Glerup og forsker Olivia Dahl, der omhandler den hyper aktuelle og sårbare debat om aktiv dødshjælp. Aktiv dødshjælp handler om, hvorvidt mennesker, som ikke umiddelbart er døende, skal kunne få statens hjælp til at afslutte livet. Det vil for eksempel sige mennesker med handicap. Men hvor frit er et sådan valg i en tid, hvor levevilkårene for danskere med handikap er dybt pressede økonomisk, materielt og socialt? I en tid, hvor finansministeren har udnævnt de, der har brug for hjælp som en økonomisk belastning, og hvor der konstant skæres i den livshjælp, der gør det muligt at leve nogenlunde ligeværdigt uanset handikap? Og hvad betyder aktiv dødshjælp, for de der vælger livet med handikap? Sarah Glerup grundlagde netværket Ikke Død Endnu i 2017 som reaktion på, at debatten om aktiv dødshjælp typisk foregår hen over hovedet på de mennesker, den omhandler. Olivia Dahl forsker i hverdagsliv med handicap på sociologisk institut ved Københavns Universitet.
