Contours' Mandate: Part Two

In the second and final part of her series, Attou continues her discussion with our four guests, focusing on the tension between inclusion and exclusion as it relates to Contours’ revised mandate. Should we be defining ourselves based on who we are including, or excluding? Charlotte-Anne, Erin, Raphael, and Sejeong weigh in and speak to the need for women-centered spaces and the role of the journal in the Faculty and beyond. To close out this fruitful two-part series, we hear from our guests (in true vox pop fashion!) what gender justice means to them.

McGill Law Vox Pop & Contours' Mandate: Part One

In this inaugural episode of Outspoken!, listeners are treated to a vox pop segment in which McGill Faculty of Law students answer the question, “What does gender justice mean to you?” Contours Head French Editor and Podcast Committee Chair Attou Mamat (she/her) then leads past and current Contours editors Charlotte-Anne Malischewski (she/her), Erin Moores (she/her), Raphael Schmieder-Gropen (they/them), and Sejeong Park (she/her) into the first part of a rich discussion on the journal’s mandate. Together, they delve into the role of language in gender advocacy and the law, and the wider implications of Contours’ mandate on how we understand gender justice in the context of the Faculty, the legal profession, and society at large.
