Nick shares what it was really like building a real estate media business with his wife Mel, from late nights and burnout to outsourcing, hiring their first employee and eventually building a team.
They talk about the things creatives often overlook when they start growing: knowing when to ask for help, hiring for attitude rather than just technical skill, training people properly, maintaining standards and, perhaps hardest of all, letting go of the work you’ve always done yourself.
Because building a team isn't just about finding more people. It means learning a completely different set of skills yourself.

They get into the difference between building a business and building yourself a very demanding job, the fear of letting go of creative control, teams, systems, AI, family, burnout and the uncomfortable reality that the anxiety doesn't necessarily disappear as you grow.
Because eventually, becoming a better photographer isn't the answer.
You have to build something that can work without you.
