The Gospel Is Enough: Lindsay Clancy, Justice, and the Reach of Grace | Ep 25
The Lindsay Clancy trial has the internet divided — but Tyler and Joe cut through the outrage to ask the deeper question: what does the Christian have to say about justice, culpability, and grace? They unpack why it is the government's job to wield the sword and not the Church's, why the taking of human life is so grievous (we are made in the image of God), and why Christians must be able to say — no matter how uncomfortable it is — that the same gospel that saved Paul, the self-described "chief among sinners," is sufficient even for Lindsay Clancy. Drawing on the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard and the Doctrines of Grace, they close with an earnest call: there is no sin so great that God's grace cannot reach you. Come to Christ. He will give you rest. Email : Overtheologizing@gmail.com X : https://x.com/Overtheologizer Youtube : http://www.youtube.com/@Overtheologizing Instagram : @Overtheologizing

Hell, The Trinity, and Theology Proper | Ep 24
In Episode 24, Joe and Tyler tackle some of the meatiest questions in Christian theology. They open with annihilationism — is it a faithful reading of Scripture, or, as they argue, a theological "easy way out" from the doctrine of hell? From there the conversation turns to the Trinity, unpacking modalism and Oneness Pentecostalism and why bad theology proper places groups like Mormonism, Islam, and the Jehovah's Witnesses outside the bounds of historic Christianity. They close with a moving reflection on worship as a taste of eternity — and the awesome, fearful majesty of God.

Reason, Suffering, and the Case for Christian Hope | Ep. 23
A wide-ranging conversation on faith, reason, and meaning. We start with the everyday — production hiccups, extreme heat — before turning to the bigger questions: Can Christianity be defended by evidence and reason alone, or does that concede too much to empiricism? Can atheism ground objective morality and human dignity? If the universe is blind indifference, what motivation is there to keep going? We dig into science and creation, why God isn't bounded by empirical categories, and how the incarnation and suffering of Christ respond to the problem of evil. We close on historical credibility, why Christian trust isn't blind faith, and how Christian hope gives suffering purpose.
