EPISODE 5 - PHINA ORUCHE TV Actress and writer Phina Oruche loves the word and is known for her theatre writing. Her one woman show &quot;Identity Crisis&quot; was nominated for an Alfred Fagon award. was reviewed well in Edinburgh, London, Bristol, Liverpool and all the places it toured.</p> <p>A long time former columnist for the Liverpool Echo.</p> <p>She now has turned her hand to different type of storytelling and found a creative way to motivate her son to read.</p> <p>And started writing for children to encourage her own son to read during Lockdown her debut book Jacopo Jacopo Football Star was written to inspire her son who is a keen footballer.</p> <p>The newest release book in the Jacopo series is Jacopo Jacopo On Lockdown and still inspires boys to be their best but lays bare &quot;the talk” parents of children of colour have to have about race.</p> <p>Phina Oruche who credits include “Taken Down” RTE, Anthony on BBC 1, Footballers Wives ITV, Hollyoaks CH4, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer on WB, decided that though she didn&#39;t want to talk about race, the events of the last two months and the Lockdown in combination made a crucible for children that needed to be addressed</p>

She is a performance arts graduate, theatre maker, producer and spoken word poet, an alumnus of the Artistic Director leadership programme: Future Leader of Tomorrow delivered by cohort of theatres Talawa, Tiata Fahodzhi, Freedom studios.</p> <p>She won Merseyside Woman of the Year 2022; featured in the Echo's Power list: 100 Most Influential People in Liverpool; and she was a Finalist as an Artist of the Year 2020 in Liverpool's Creativity and Culture Awards, recognised for curating many arts opportunities through the pandemic.</p> <p>She is a Trustee of two great mini grant funding initiatives in Liverpool: Awesome Foundation Trustee and Liverpool SOUP supporting great projects that bring joy and make positive change.</p>
