   Packers Blitz Episode #134: Is Matt LaFleur on the Hot Seat? Packers Look to Bounce Back vs. Buccaneers

   The Green Bay Packers are 1-2, and Packers fans are running out of patience. On Episode #134 of Packers Blitz, John and Andy break down the fallout from Green Bay's brutal 35-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field, question whether Matt LaFleur and his coaching staff can get this team back on track, examine the disastrous offensive line, and look ahead to a must-win matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And because Packers fans could use a laugh, John steps behind the podium for a very special "Matt LaFleur press conference." What would a typical Matt LaFleur press conference sound like after another ugly Packers loss? John takes his best shot at becoming LaFleur while Andy fires questions from some familiar—and increasingly frustrated—voices. Expect plenty of: 🏈 "We've got to look at the tape." 🏈 "We've got to fix our mistakes." 🏈 "We've got to get back to work." 🏈 And, of course, plenty of looking in the mirror. It's Packers therapy with a sense of humor. The guys turn serious and discuss whether LaFleur's biggest problem is his inability to get the Packers to consistently play up to—or beyond—their competition. After getting embarrassed by Atlanta, simply promising to "fix the mistakes" isn't enough anymore. John and Andy discuss whether Green Bay needs greater accountability from its players and coaches, whether changes need to be made on the coaching staff, and why LaFleur may eventually have to make some difficult decisions if the season continues going in the wrong direction. The numbers from Green Bay's start aren't pretty. The Packers surrendered 498 yards of offense against Atlanta, while their own running game has produced just 146 rushing yards through the first three games. Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson alone rushed for 194 yards, while Drake London added another 194 receiving yards. Meanwhile, protecting Jordan Love remains one of Green Bay's biggest problems. The Packers have responded by stockpiling offensive linemen, including veterans Kevin Zeitler, Laken Tomlinson and Mekhi Becton, as Green Bay desperately searches for a combination capable of protecting Love and creating a legitimate running game. There weren't many bright spots against Atlanta, but a couple of Packers earned recognition. Offense: Matthew Golden Golden recorded his first regular-season touchdown and reached 100 receiving yards. Special Teams: Daniel Whelan Whelan averaged 50 yards per punt and put four of his five punts inside the 20-yard line. Defense: Yeah... we're moving on. John and Andy also check in on the rest of the division as Green Bay suddenly finds itself looking up at its NFC North rivals. The guys discuss the Minnesota Vikings' hot start, Detroit finding a way to survive against the Jets, Chicago winning despite being without Caleb Williams, and what the early standings mean for a Packers team that can't afford to fall much further behind. Next up: Tampa Bay. Both teams enter the matchup with serious problems, particularly along their offensive lines. For Green Bay, however, this game feels especially important. After being embarrassed at home, how will the Packers respond? Can Green Bay finally establish the run? Can the offensive line keep Jordan Love upright?    Packers Blitz - Episode #133 Ugly Jets Win, Lucas Van Ness Breakout & Packers vs. Falcons Preview

   The Green Bay Packers are back in the win column — but it wasn’t pretty. On Episode #133 of Packers Blitz, John and Andy break down Green Bay’s wild 20–17 overtime victory over the New York Jets, a game that featured a fourth-quarter comeback, outstanding special teams, a strong defensive effort, and an offense that left plenty to be desired. The Packers erased a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit and snapped a six-game losing streak, but the performance raises a major question: Why does Green Bay continue to play down to its competition? John and Andy break down everything that went right — and plenty that went wrong — against New York. THE GOOD: Green Bay’s special teams finally looked special. Skyy Moore provided a huge spark in the return game, while the Packers defense made enough plays to keep the team alive. THE BAD: The offense struggled badly. Jordan Love finished 18-of-29 for 145 yards and two touchdowns, while Green Bay continued to struggle running the football and protecting its quarterback. THE DOWNRIGHT UGLY: Penalties. The Packers committed 18 penalties, continuing an alarming early-season trend that John and Andy believe has to be cleaned up immediately. They also discuss Matt LaFleur’s play calling, Green Bay’s tendency to repeatedly run on first down, offensive-line problems, injuries, and whether the Packers need to become much more aggressive offensively. There wasn’t much to celebrate offensively, but Lucas Van Ness delivered a monster performance on defense. Van Ness recorded six pressures, 1.5 sacks, four quarterback hits, 10 tackles, seven solo tackles and three tackles for loss while earning an 81.2 PFF grade. Then there was Skyy Moore. Moore exploded on special teams with a 63-yard punt return and 43-yard kickoff return, giving Green Bay the kind of field-position weapon Packers fans have been waiting to see. Could Moore become Green Bay’s next great return specialist? The Packers won, but John and Andy aren't letting the offense off the hook. They discuss: Jordan Love’s inconsistent performance Green Bay’s predictable first-down play calling The struggling rushing attack Offensive-line injuries Matt LaFleur’s offensive approach Turnovers and ball security The Packers’ mounting penalty problem Whether Green Bay lacks a killer instinct The impact of injuries to key offensive players A win is a win — but performances like this won’t be good enough against the NFL’s better teams. John and Andy also take their weekly trip around the NFC North to discuss what’s happening with the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears. From quarterback injuries to defensive concerns and early-season surprises, the division is already providing plenty to talk about. Next up: Thursday Night Football at Lambeau Field. The Atlanta Falcons visit the Green Bay Packers for a Week 3 matchup that John and Andy believe Green Bay should control. Atlanta enters the matchup struggling offensively, while quarterback Michael Penix Jr. returns to the lineup. The Falcons still have dangerous weapons, including Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts, meaning Green Bay can’t afford another sloppy performance. Atlanta’s defense also presents opportunities for Jordan Love and the Packers passing attack, particularly with cornerback A.J. Terrell unavailable. The message is simple: This needs to be Green Bay’s get-right game. Both John and Andy correctly predicted Green Bay’s first two results of the season, and they’re putting that undefeated prediction record on the line again. Andy’s Prediction: 🧀 Packers 27 🔥 Falcons 16 John’s Prediction: 🧀 Packers 31 🔥 Falcons 10 Both agree on one thing: Green Bay should win this game convincingly.

   Packers Blitz Episode #132: Packers Collapse Against Vikings — Is It Time to Panic?

   The Green Bay Packers are back and unfortunately, so are some painfully familiar problems. In Episode #132 of Packers Blitz, John and Andy break down Green Bay’s stunning 39–22 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, a game in which the Packers held a 22–10 lead before Minnesota took over. Green Bay was outscored 22–0 in the fourth quarter as another late-game collapse added to a losing streak stretching back to last season. So, what went wrong? The guys dig into Matt LaFleur’s coaching decisions, Green Bay’s inability to adjust to Brian Flores’ aggressive defense, the struggling offensive line, penalties, protection problems and the continuing question of whether this team knows how to finish games. The frustrating part? The Packers actually outgained Minnesota 419–239, while Jordan Love threw for 387 yards. Green Bay had opportunities to put the game away but couldn't turn its statistical advantage into a victory. John and Andy also hand out their Packers players of the game, including Christian Watson, before looking around the NFC North and discussing what the early results could mean for Green Bay. And yes, Lil Wayne enters the conversation. The Packers superfan had plenty to say following the Minnesota loss—and John and Andy have plenty to say about his reaction.
