   Padres Putting It All Together

Following a 6-1 road trip to San Francisco and Colorado, the San Diego Padres are talking about magic numbers and improving their postseason seed. Steve Drumwright takes a look back at the road trip, which included Ethan Salas' first two-homer game of his young career, some games that were closer than they should have been and the offense putting up some runs. Steve also talks about how the concern over the back end of the bullpen has dissipated in the last few days after Bradgley Rodriguez, Adrian Morejon and Mason Miller were being worked a lot. He also goes over the postseason plan for the 20-year-old Salas and whether he should be starting, while also touching on the contributions of Dustin Harris and how realistic it is for the Padres to overtake the Philadelphia Phillies or Chicago Cubs for a better playoff seed. In the minors, Steve recaps how the Low-A Lake Elsinore Storm captured the California League championship. He finishes with a preview of the Marlins series and what to expect in the final nine games.
