Pamela Des Barres' Pajama Party with Randy Jackson
Hey fabulous rock-n-roll lovers!
In this sizzling episode we dive into the exhilarating world of Zebra with the iconic Randy Jackson. Randy shares a hilarious and somewhat frustrating band practice mishap where one bandmate insisted on playing "Aqualung" during "Suffragette City," even flaunting a Jack-o'-lantern grin with his loose tooth cap. Through trials and tribulations, including an impromptu sorority gig that defined their band name as "Zebra," Randy's narratives gleam with humor and resilience. The band experienced growing pains and successes, from hopping the New Orleans scene to making waves in New York, eventually charming Atlantic Records with their distinct sound and rocking hit "Who's Behind the Door?"
Join us as Randy delves into the magic of songwriting, the influence of greats like The Beatles and Bob Dylan, and the rock-n-roll hustle that’s kept Zebra touring for decades. With anecdotes about almost touring with Jefferson Airplane and the comical confusion with the other famous Randy Jackson, this episode is a treasure trove for music aficionados. Plus, there’s exciting news about Zebra’s upcoming album, the first since 2001. So, grab your PJs and gather 'round as we celebrate the legacy of rock with tales that will make your heart sing and your feet tap.
