Chairman Mike Selig told CNBC he is disappointed in Congress, but the agency has statutory authority and intends to use it. - Kalshi launched the first stock-index perpetual future in America, tied to the US 500. Single-stock perps on Nvidia, Meta and Amazon are planned later this year. - South Africa’s First National Bank opened crypto trading to nearly 9 million clients, covering Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and USDT. - The S&P 500 closed above 7,800 for the first time, its 28th record of the year. - Ray Dalio said the AI bubble may burst soon. - Elon Musk’s net worth officially passed $1.1 trillion. - The US goods trade deficit jumped 13.7% to $105.6 billion, a 17-month high. Over the last 20 months the goods deficit was $2.06 trillion, about 8% wider than the prior 20 months, despite tariffs. - South Korea stocks are up 97% in 2026 and Taiwan stocks are up 86%, while China stocks are down 12%. - Micron’s net income has surged 42x in two years to $38 billion, about $8 billion more than Apple earned last quarter, as chip supply stays tight. If you missed the past 24 hours in crypto and stocks, here's your full recap: 🚨 Major Headlines & Market Moves 🚨 - Japan's 10-year government bond yield hit 3.1%, the highest in about 30 years. - Elon Musk is a trillionaire again after SpaceX stock $SPCX surged past $160 and a $2.23 trillion market cap. - The Nasdaq closed about 0.8% higher at a fresh record, even with the 10-year Treasury yield near 5.30%. Nvidia rose about 1.5%. - Western Digital and Seagate rebounded about 5% to 6% after Friday's selloff, as analysts called Toshiba supply fears overdone. - PTC surged about 34% after Schneider Electric agreed to buy the industrial software company for $22.6 billion, or $205 a share in cash. - Option Care Health jumped about 21% after hours on reports McKesson and CD&R are nearing a takeover worth more than $5 billion. - Qualcomm rose after signing a multi-year licensing deal with Huawei covering 5G, AI, computing and networking. - The SEC approved the first 3x leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum products from Volatility Shares for listing on Cboe BZX. They are based on CME futures, not spot holdings, and the same batch includes 3x gold, silver, crude oil and natural gas products. - The CFTC proposed its first round of rules for US crypto markets.
