Paperweight isn’t like other comedy podcasts. It’s not a bunch of straight dudes explaining their inside jokes for hours on end. It’s three queer comedians (and one token straight friend!) bringing you sharp humor writing with the energy of a live show. With guests Maeve Higgins, Ziwe Fumudoh, and James Folta, this is not one to miss.
The third and final episode of Season 1 features none other than Ziwe Fumudoh! She and the crew talk all things CULTS. We’ve got sister-wives. We’ve got Scientology. We’ve got… “The Real Housewives.” Yes, it counts! Ziwe performs all over New York, created “Baited With Ziwe” for Above Average, and wrote for the brilliant political comedy show “The Rundown” on BET.

Maritime (James Folta)
Sarah, Emilie, Keelin, and Paul are joined by genius humor writer James Folta to talk about the ocean. Pirates? We got ‘em. Sea anemones? Check. An illicit love affair with a body of water? Absolutely. Read James’ work in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, and lots of other places.

Teens (Maeve Higgins)
Brilliant writer and comedian Maeve Higgins joins Paperweight to talk about our nation’s most angsty demo: teens. She shares a chilling tale from her youth, Emilie imagines a day in the life of a teenage girl in Ancient Greece, and Keelin doles out advice for those of us struggling to befriend goblins. Check out Maeve’s podcast “Mothers of Invention” and buy her book “Maeve in America: Essays by a Girl from Somewhere Else.” She’s an inspiration.
