Are We There Yet?
Can serving others actually lead to more joy? Philippians 2 shows us the self-giving love and humility of Jesus and challenges the way we naturally organize life around our own preferences, rights, comfort, and recognition. Jesus offers another way. When we surrender our pride, put others first, and learn to serve like Jesus, we discover that joy doesn’t come from getting more for ourselves. Sometimes we find it by giving ourselves away.Take Me Back is a four-week series through the book of Philippians about rediscovering a deep, durable joy that isn’t controlled by our circumstances. Instead of waiting for life to get easier before we can experience joy, Paul points us back to Jesus. Through suffering, serving, striving, and surrender, we’ll discover that joy isn’t something we have to find or manufacture. It’s something we can return to.Paradox Church exists to connect disconnected people with Jesus. We’re a church in Warren, Michigan, committed to knowing God, growing together, and going to make a difference in our neighborhoods, the nations, and the next generation.

In the Middle of It
What does it look like to have joy when life is hard? In Philippians 1, Paul writes from prison and shows us that suffering doesn’t mean God has left us. We can be honest about disappointment, loss, unanswered prayer, difficult relationships, sickness, loneliness, and the things we’re carrying while still trusting that Jesus is enough. Joy isn’t the absence of suffering. It’s discovering the presence of Jesus in the middle of it.Take Me Back is a four-week series through the book of Philippians about rediscovering a deep, durable joy that isn’t controlled by our circumstances. You’ve Been Forgiven Everything. Act Like It.
What does the Bible teach about forgiving someone who has deeply hurt us? In this message from Romans 14:1–12 and Matthew 18:21–35, we explore how remembering God’s mercy frees us to release judgment, resentment, and the need to get even. It Has a Shape. It’s a Cross.
What does it mean to take up your cross and follow Jesus? In this message from Matthew 16:24 and Romans 12:9–21, we explore how the cross shapes everyday Christian living through sincere love, forgiveness, hospitality, humility, and responding to evil with good.
