Staying Connected to Your Teen with Dr. Willough Jenkins, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
<p>Today we're talking to Dr. Willough Jenkins about some of the bumps and bruises that can occur during adolescence. I get Dr. Jenkins' thoughts on teens and social media!</p><p></p><p>Dr. Willough Jenkins is an award winning Canadian and American board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child psychiatry and also trained as a pharmacist. She is a healthcare leader serving as the medical director of the Psychiatric Emergency and Consultation<br />Liaison Service at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego.</p><p><br />With her dual training, Dr. Jenkins provides compassionate, evidence-based care to some of California’s most critically ill children. She serves on national committees shaping mental health policies and advocates at the state senate for improved children's<br />mental health services. As a researcher, she has contributed to several publications in academic journals, furthering the understanding of children's mental health. </p><p><br />Dr. Jenkins has a regular segment on CBS 8 San Diego, where she demystifies child mental health topics for the public, and she frequently contributes to other local and national TV channels. Her expertise spans all forms of media, and she has been featured<br />in national outlets like Time Magazine. As a strong educator to both health care professionals and the public she is also a sought-after speaker at conferences. Helping Your Child Sleep- From Infancy to Adolescence with Dr. Sujay Kansagra
<p>Sujay Kansagra, MD is a professor at Duke and the director of Duke University’s Pediatric Neurology Sleep Medicine Program. He’s popularly knows as @ThatSleepDoc on social media where he has over 700,000 followers. He’s also the inventor of the Lullabee Smart Crib Mattress. He specializes in treating a variety of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy and parasomnias.
