Paris is a Party

About Paris is a Party

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to live in Paris but I can’t pinpoint or understand where that dream came from. Moulin Rouge, maybe? In fact, wanting to live in Paris was something growing up that I was embarrassed to admit to myself (among other things ;D)! In this podcast I explore where this desire comes from through conversations with expats, Parisians, the French, and anyone traveling or living in Paris and France. I aim to understand what brought them here, what they love or hate about this city and French culture and what Paris means to them. I’m on a quest to understand what it is about Paris and France that draws people in. I want to document the people in my life in a context and format that speaks to the bizarre realities of the 2020s and in doing so, I hope to gain a better understanding of what pulled me to this city and brought me to this point in my life living in Paris. Party with Stefan, Ep. 6

The one and only Stefan, hailing from The Big Apple, joins me for a short and sweet apéro hour party / podcast session. This is my first *visitor* on Paris is a Party and oh! what a treat it is to have him joining me. We dive deep on fashion (brands brands brands, galore!), Paris styles, and how Paris transformed into an even brighter and more cosmopolitan city than it was when Stefan first visited (at the sweet sweet age of 16). Party with Colleen, Ep. 5

It's been a long time coming....this particular episode was recorded three times due to various technical difficulties but we finally got there, making it the most special episode yet! Colleen, a Paris Grande Dame, joins me to discuss what first inspired her about France, how she established herself as a lawyer in Paris, and what it is about Paris and French culture that is both charming (food, the countryside, small neighborhoods) and sometimes horrible (no sense of customer service). It's a winding conversation taking place with a little apéro that ends with a conversation around fashion and style. Don't miss that! Hosted on Acast. Party with Amy Ep. 4

Amy is about to leave Paris but won't go without first saying goodbye. Thank god for that! In truth, Amy is like many of us: dreaming of living in Paris and trying to figure out how to make it happen. I'm catching Amy right before she leaves to the US in the hopes of finally getting her paperwork approved and returning to start her life in the City of Light. As an American expat whose lived in NYC, LA, and CDMX, we explore what it is about Paris and French culture that inspires Amy. We discuss the visa process, the French attitude, the difficulties and joys of living abroad, and her favorite places to eat/drink/go out. Hosted on Acast. Party with Emily Ep. 3

I have one of the most special guests joining me: My sister, Emily (@eeisenhart) ! We cover a lot of ground in this episode. Don't sleep on it. We examine, without any conclusion, what inspired us to take French in HS and funny moments on a seminal family trips to Paris. Two big points we cover off on in our conversation is Paris's duality between darkness (the Catacombs) and light (this IS the City of Light) and the romance of NYC vs Paris. It's fun. There's a lot of laughs. Hot tips / Pro Recs Cafe(s): Angelina Paris (226 Rue de Rivoli ) - go for the hot chocolate but know it's a lot. Museum(s): Les Catacombes de Paris (1, Avenue du Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy (place Denfert-Rochereau) 75014 Paris), book in advance Area(s) to walk: Cimetière du Père-Lachaise (20eme), Hosted on Acast.
