About "Park Right Here" with Katrina Rochon and Tom Consentino...our personal journeys with Parkinson's Disease

Park Right Here is an informational—and hopefully entertaining—podcast about Parkinson’s disease, shared through my lived experience walking this journey. But this podcast is about more than Parkinson’s. My desire is to offer hope, honest conversation, and connection to people with Parkinson’s (PWPs), care partners, family members, friends, medical professionals, therapists, faith leaders, neighbors, and anyone who wants to better support those living with PD. You are not alone. Through personal stories—sometimes funny, sometimes difficult, sometimes deeply moving—I share what this journey has taught me. I talk openly about diagnosis, self-advocacy, building a care team, medications (at a high level), movement disorder specialists, exercise, mental health, research, nutrition, supplements (the good and the bad), support groups, social media support, and the day-to-day realities of living with Parkinson’s. I am not a medical professional, and I do not offer medical advice. I am a person living this life, sharing what I’ve learned along the way. If you have questions about medications, treatments, or symptoms, I strongly encourage you to speak with your doctor, neurologist, movement disorder specialist, or pharmacist. Take what helps you from this podcast—and leave the rest. I believe in transparency. I don’t sugarcoat Parkinson’s or hide the hard days. What you hear and see is real. Parkinson’s affects every part of life, but it does not have to stop you from living a meaningful, connected, and joy-filled life. Each season, I interview people who work with and are connected to the Parkinson’s community, including movement disorder specialists, physical and occupational therapists, mental health professionals, researchers, nonprofit leaders, caregivers, advocates, inventors, and people living with Parkinson’s. Every voice matters. This is not just my podcast—it’s our community. I welcome your questions, ideas, and topics, because lived experience matters here.     We Have A Guest!

    Hello everyone. Today, in episode 4, we have a lovely guest named Lorraine Wilson. She is also an ambassador for the Davis Finney Foundation. She is going to sit down with us and talk about Parkinson's. Specifically, she will talk about how to start a support group. And all of the ups and downs she has had in her experience with her support group. She is a wealth of information on so many different topics. When Tom said Lorraine would sit in with us today, I couldn't remember who she was because I am awful with names. But as soon as she entered the episode, I remembered exactly who she was. She has been a tremendous mentor to me as an ambassador, a great friend, and an encourager on my journey with Parkinson's. She has given me great support and ideas for starting my support group. She is always entertaining to talk to. And I agree with Tom. She is one of my favorite people, and among the most fabulous ladies I know.     Let's Talk About It

    Tom and I, Katrina, sit down and talk about Parkinson's fatigue. Do you ever feel like you're tired of being tired? That's How both of us feel today.  My dyskinesia was much better today. I do feel very thankful for that. We sit down and share our knowledge about our journey with this extremely complicated disease called Parkinson's. We are both ambassadors for the Davis Phinney Foundation out of Colorado.
