What's wrong with teenage girls? The fate of all adolescent girldom ends up in the hands of five historical and fictional teenage girls - gathered in the afterlife to figure it out. This accidental dead girl think tank includes Persephone, Joan of Arc, the Virgin Mary, and Shakespeare's Ophelia and Lavinia. They're focused on unraveling the mystery of the Parthenos: the ancient Greek ghost of all teenage girls everywhere. They fight, they fall in love, they get drunk, and even if you didn’t listen while they were alive - you sure as hell will now that they’re dead.

Despite the reluctance - we do end up learning some interesting info on these gals. Lavinia opens with Roman violence and contempt, Ophelia trauma-dumps with a smile, Mary flexes her divine maternal credentials while judging the snack situation, and Joan of Arc is just trying to explain pronouns between war flashbacks and toilet experiments.
