Because He ... Gave | We give because He gave first, and our giving helps build His Kingdom.

Does God owe us something when we’ve been faithful? What happens when we obey Him and life still hurts? In Because He Gave, Pastor Nate Schaefer at Passion Church explores John 3:16, God’s grace, and the foundation of Christian generosity: God gave first. Through Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus and His willing sacrifice on the cross, this message challenges us to stop treating giving as a transaction with God. We don’t give to earn His love, repay His sacrifice, or guarantee a life without suffering. We give because grace has made us free. In this message, discover: Why God’s generosity comes before our obedience. Why faithfulness doesn’t guarantee a suffering-free life. How control and past hurt can hold us back from generosity. What it means to give our time, attention, hospitality, and resources. Because He... Comes First | Tithing, firstfruits, and putting God first financially.

What if the biggest problem with your money is that you think it belongs to you? In this message, we look at what the Bible teaches about money, generosity, stewardship, giving, and ultimately who owns everything we have. Psalm 24 tells us that the earth and everything in it belongs to the Lord. That changes the way we think about our paycheck, possessions, savings, future, and generosity. Biblical giving doesn't begin with a percentage—it begins with ownership. In this message, you'll discover: • Why God is the source of everything we have • What biblical stewardship really means • Why generosity is bigger than giving money to a church • How money can reveal what we truly trust Rendering our finances is part of surrendering our entire lives to Jesus We'll look at Psalm 24, Deuteronomy 8:17–18, 1 Chronicles 29, and Matthew 6:19–24 to understand what Scripture says about money, generosity, trust, stewardship, and following Jesus. The question isn't simply, “How much should I give?” The deeper question is: Who owns what I have?
