Pastor Jim currently serves at Yorkville United Methodist Church in Yorkville, WI, where he has been since March of 2024.
He has served as a pastor in The United Methodist Church for eighteen years in the state of Wisconsin including churches in Oakfield, Eden, Sheboygan, Dodgeville, Ridgeway, and Yorkville.
Before the ministry, he was a Residence Hall Director (RHD) at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for six years. His original plan was to use degree in music education to be a choir teacher but that didn't work out. It was during his fourth year as an RHD that he heard a call to ministry,
Pastor Jim married Christina in 2018 and they have a spunky toy schnauzer named Harvey.
October 4th, 2026 Sermon -- Enough, Part I: 'When Dreams Become Nightmares' (Stewardship Month)
We begin a four-part series called "Enough" for Stewardship Month at Yorkville UMC. This week's message is called "When Dreams Become Nightmares."
We'll look at how affluenza and credit-itis has changed our thinking and turned the American Dream into a nightmare.
While it is stewardship month for our church, I think you will find the ideas and suggestions applicable both to the church and to the home.
Scripture reading to look at: Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 8:4-15.

September 27th, 2026 Sermon -- Sharing God's Love, Part III: 'The Need to Share'
It all comes down to this! We've talked enough about love. Now we need to think about how we are going to share it. This is the part of the message that we don't want to hear because it takes work.
It takes us doing the uncomfortable thing...talking with other people about Jesus. Whether you're a member of Yorkville UMC or not, this message still applies. All churches need to hear this message. I hope you find it helpful.

September 20th, 2026 Sermon -- Sharing God's Love, Part II: 'Agape Love in the Church'
As we move into the second part of the series reflecting on Yorkville UMC's mission of "Sharing God's Love," the sermon is divided into two parts:
Part One digs deeper into agape love, reflecting on its meaning from the Bible as well as from a Wesleyan perspective. We'll continue our exploration of love as an action, not just a feeling.
Part Two will look at the times in which love might be difficult to demonstrate because it requires us to confront a brother or sister in Christ.
Scripture readings to look at in advance are 1 Corinthians 13 and 2 Peter 4:1-8.
