Pastor John's Life Change Moments

About Pastor John's Life Change Moments

The most important decision anyone can make in life is where they are going to spend eternity because all people will spend eternity in one of two places, either in heaven or in hell. Because all sin must be paid for ("For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23, LSB), we all need a Savior. We cannot save ourselves; only God can do that. No magic phrases or baptism can save anybody. Our mission is to bring the word of Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him and to those who feel they are not worthy enough to be considered by Him. No one can be saved without first hearing the word of Christ. Romans 10:13–17 (LSB) says: "For 'WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.' How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? And how will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, 'HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO PROCLAIM GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!' However, they did not all heed the good news, for Isaiah says, 'LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?' So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." We help people free themselves from the prison of guilt. Learn more with Pastor John Haggard at TreasureTop.com.

Citizenship: Where Do You Belong for Eternity?

A passport identifies your country. A birth certificate records where your earthly life began. But neither answers a question that reaches far beyond this life: Where do you belong for eternity? In this episode, Pastor John Haggard explores what it means to have citizenship in heaven and how that belonging changes the way Christians live today. Drawing from Philippians 3:20–21, John explains that believers already belong to Christ while eagerly awaiting His return. Our future rests in the Savior who will transform our humble bodies to be like His glorious body. That promise speaks directly to the struggles we face now. People may judge us by our failures, circumstances, or past. Hurtful words can leave us questioning our worth and wondering where we belong. Yet human opinion does not have the final word. God knows our hearts, and those who belong to Christ are members of His household. What does that mean when ordinary life feels overwhelming? Having citizenship in heaven gives us a lasting perspective on temporary circumstances. It helps us face disappointment without surrendering hope, receive correction without making human approval our identity, and remember that suffering will not define the believer's future forever. Colossians 3:1–3 calls believers to set their minds on the things above, where Christ is. This does not remove our responsibilities here. It changes the priorities we bring to them. Our families, work, relationships, and resources become opportunities to honor the One to whom we belong. John also examines Jesus' teaching about treasure in Matthew 6:19–21. Earthly possessions can deteriorate, disappear, or be stolen. When our deepest security depends on them, our hearts remain attached to what cannot last. Jesus directs His followers toward treasure in heaven and invites us to consider what our choices reveal about our devotion. Where do your time, attention, and money go? What do you turn to for security? What would change if eternity shaped your decisions today? These questions help bring this message into everyday life, encouraging generosity, service, and faithfulness. The episode also addresses the seriousness of our eternal destination. Jesus speaks of eternal punishment and eternal life in Matthew 25:46. Heaven is not something we earn through respectable behavior, religious activity, or a Christian upbringing. We need forgiveness and new life through Jesus Christ. As Ephesians 2:8–10 teaches, salvation is by grace through faith, not by works. Good works follow as the fruit of God's saving work. Christ died for our sins and rose again; our hope rests in Him. Whether you have followed Jesus for years or are beginning to explore Christianity, this message invites you to consider your eternal home and the life you are living now. Listen for biblical encouragement, an honest call to examine your priorities, and a reminder that belonging to Christ gives lasting hope. Defending Your Faith Without Compromise (Podcast)

How do you stand firm in your Christian faith when friends, family, coworkers, or the surrounding culture pressure you to compromise? How can you explain what you believe with conviction while still treating others with gentleness and respect? In How to Defend Your Faith Without Compromise, Pastor John Haggard explores what Scripture teaches about defending your hope in Jesus Christ. Drawing from 1 Peter 3:15–16 and other biblical passages, he explains why a faithful witness begins with honoring Christ as Lord and allowing His Word to shape both your answers and your conduct. This message offers four practical steps: Understand what you are defending: Know the gospel and distinguish biblical truth from personal opinion. Speak truth with relational integrity: Respond with kindness, patience, and a life consistent with your words. Remember your ultimate purpose: Share Christ faithfully while trusting God to open hearts. Build a strong biblical foundation: Prepare through regular Scripture study, faithful preaching, and Christian fellowship. Pastor John also addresses the personal cost of standing firm and why unconfessed sin must not be ignored as you seek God's wisdom and direction. You cannot shout someone into heaven. Your responsibility is to explain the truth faithfully, reflect Christ's character, and trust God with the results. Scripture references are from the Legacy Standard Bible unless otherwise noted. Gender Equality in the Bible: Equal Dignity, Different Roles

What does the Bible say about gender equality? Pastor John Haggard explains why Scripture teaches that men and women share equal dignity, spiritual value, and standing before God while also assigning distinct responsibilities in marriage and the governing and authoritative teaching offices of the local church. Beginning with creation in Genesis and continuing through the ministry of Jesus and the New Testament church, this episode examines the biblical case for "equal, but different." You'll hear how women served God throughout Scripture, what passages such as Galatians 3:28, 1 Timothy 2–3, 1 Corinthians 14, and Ephesians 5 mean in context, and why biblical headship can never justify domination, abuse, or the mistreatment of women. In this episode: • Men and women as image-bearers of God • Equal standing in Christ and salvation by grace • How Jesus treated women • Women's gifts and ministry throughout Scripture • Why the pastor/elder office is reserved for qualified men • Marriage, headship, and Christlike servant leadership • Equal pay, workplace fairness, and protection from harassment • How churches should honor women, develop discipleship, and confront abuse responsibly Key Scriptures: Genesis 1:26–28; Genesis 2:18–24; Galatians 3:26–29; Luke 8:1–3; John 4:7–42; 1 Timothy 2:11–15; 1 Timothy 3:1–7; 1 Corinthians 11:5, 11–12; 1 Corinthians 14:33–40; Ephesians 5:21–33; 1 Peter 3:7; Titus 2:3–5; James 5:4.
