The Blessed Citizens of the Heavenly Kingdom This sermon by Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi based on Matthew 5:3-12 , explores the characteristics of individuals within God's kingdom. It explains how those who are poor in spirit, mournful, and meek are blessed and inherit the kingdom and the earth, highlighting that salvation is a free gift received through Christ's sacrifice. It outlines the importance of humility, mourning for sin, meekness, and the pursuit of righteousness as essential attributes for salvation and sanctification. The message then describes the transformative process of sanctification for believers, emphasising the importance of hungering and thirsting for righteousness, striving for purity of heart and intention, and demonstrating mercy, peacefulness, and humility in interactions. Ultimately, it emphasises the endurance required when facing persecution for one's faith, asserting that suffering for righteousness is blessed and brings a great reward in heaven. Salvation requires humility Entry into God's kingdom necessitates recognising one's spiritual poverty, as no good deeds are enough for salvation; only faith in Jesus can redeem. Mourning leads to comfort Genuine mourning for sin, acknowledging one's transgressions, is essential for receiving God's mercy and restoration. Meekness is vital Citizens of the kingdom should exhibit meekness, understanding that their salvation is by grace, and approach others with humility and kindness. Pursuit of righteousness is necessary Christians are called to continually seek deeper righteousness and holiness, moving beyond initial salvation experiences. Mercy and peace are outcomes of grace A heart transformed by God's grace results in mercy towards others and a commitment to being peacemakers in all relationships. The Conversion and the Calling of the First Disciples This study by 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝐃𝐫) 𝐖.𝐅 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐲𝐢 focuses on the conversion and calling of Jesus' first disciples, specifically Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John , as described in the Synoptic Gospels (Mark, Matthew, and Luke). It examines Jesus' initial preaching of the Kingdom of God and the conditions for entry: repentance and belief in the Gospel. The message highlights the personal calls given to the fishermen and how they immediately left their previous lives and professions to follow Christ. It emphasises the importance of confessing sin, undergoing conversion, and making a steadfast commitment to follow Jesus, which involves forsaking anything that hinders this path and feeding on His Word. Ultimately, the material serves as a guide for both unbelievers seeking salvation and believers seeking guidance for their Christian walk. The Conversion and Calling of the First Disciples The study begins with the narrative of Jesus calling His first disciples, Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John, while they were engaged in their fishing profession. Jesus invites them to follow Him, promising to make them "fishers of men" (Mark 1:16-20). This calling illustrates that Jesus reaches out to ordinary people in their everyday lives, highlighting that conversion can happen outside of traditional sacred spaces, such as temples or churches. The Nature of Jesus' Call Jesus’ call to the disciples is characterised by urgency and immediacy; they left their nets and followed Him without hesitation. This response serves as a model for believers today, encouraging them to respond quickly to God’s call in their lives. The message also emphasises that the disciples were not idle but actively engaged in their work before being called to a higher purpose. The Role of Repentance and Belief The message outlines two essential components of entering the Kingdom of God: repentance and belief in the Gospel. Jesus preached about the Kingdom of God, urging people to repent and believe (Mark 1:15) as a foundational step towards salvation. Repentance involves turning away from sin and embracing a new life in Christ, while belief signifies faith in His message and person. The Disciples' Response The first disciples' response to Jesus' call is marked by their willingness to forsake their previous lives. They recognised their sinfulness and need for salvation, as evidenced by Peter's confession of his unworthiness before Jesus (Luke 5:8). This confession leads to their conversion, where they are transformed from fishermen to disciples of Christ, tasked with spreading the Gospel. Consecration and Steadfastness The message further discusses the concept of consecration, where the disciples are called to dedicate their lives to Christ. They are encouraged to forsake all that hinders their spiritual progress, including relationships and occupations that conflict with their new calling. The act of following Jesus involves a commitment to live according to His teachings and example. Feeding on the Word A critical aspect of the disciples' journey is their engagement with the teachings of Jesus. The message emphasises the importance of feeding on His Word, which provides spiritual nourishment and guidance for living a life that honours God. Believers are encouraged to let the word of Christ dwell richly within them, as it is vital for spiritual growth and strength. Conclusion The study concludes with a call to action for both unbelievers and believers. It invites individuals to recognise their need for salvation and encourages them to pray for forgiveness and commit their lives to Christ. Deep Dive Episode 11

The Great Inescapable Judgement of Sinners in Every Generation This sermon by Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi outlines the concept of a Great Inescapable Judgement of Sinners , drawing heavily from passages in the Book of Revelation and other biblical texts. It explains that all people, regardless of their social standing or era, will face judgement before God, who is portrayed as an Impartial and Righteous Judge. The message contrasts the fate of sinners, who face eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire, with that of believers, whose names are in the Book of Life and who will experience everlasting joy in heaven. It emphasises that salvation is available through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, who is presented as a Substitute for sinners . The Great Inescapable Judgement of Sinners The sermon begins by referencing Revelation 20:11-15, describing the Great White Throne Judgment where all sinners, from all generations, will stand before God. It highlights that believers will be received into heaven while sinners will face eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire . The distinction between the fates of believers and sinners is emphasised, with believers' souls, spirits, and bodies united in heaven, while sinners will face the second death and eternal separation from God. The Great Incorruptible Judgement of Sinners God is portrayed as the Ultimate Judge who will assess every individual based on their deeds. The message references Daniel 7:9-10 to illustrate that God's judgment is not arbitrary; it is based on a thorough record of all actions. This judgment is described as impeccable and righteous, ensuring that every individual is judged fairly according to their works. The Impeccable Judgement Seat of God The sermon underscores that all will appear before the judgment seat of Christ to receive their due based on their earthly actions. It warns that God is a silent observer of every conversation and action, and He will judge everyone with complete righteousness. The Irreversible Judge’s Sentence of the Guilty The sermon stresses the importance of repentance and faith in Christ to avoid the irreversible judgment that awaits the guilty. It cites Genesis 18:25 to affirm that God will not judge the righteous alongside the wicked, reinforcing the necessity of individual accountability. The Innocent Justifying Substitute with Grace The sermon introduces Jesus Christ as the innocent substitute for humanity's sins. It emphasises that through faith in Christ, individuals can escape judgment and attain salvation, drawing from Matthew 27 and Isaiah 53 to illustrate Christ's role in bearing the sins of humanity. God's Impartial Judgement of Small and Great The sermon continues by asserting that God's judgment is impartial, encompassing all people regardless of their status. Revelations 20:12-13 emphasises that both the small and great will be judged according to their works, highlighting the importance of individual accountability. The Final Reckoning Day for Unrepentant Small and Great The final judgment day is described as a time when all will be called to account for their actions. The sermon urges the audience to prepare for this day by ensuring their salvation and that of their families. The Fearful Retributive Damnation for Unconverted Small and Great The sermon warns of the eternal consequences for those who remain unconverted, using the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah as a cautionary example of God's judgment upon the wicked, which includes both the young and the old.
