About Pathfinders of the Dark: A Science Fiction Audiobook Series
Pathfinders of the Dark is a serialized science fiction audiobook set against the backdrop of humanity's first interstellar war. When an alien swarm called the Varithra pours through a fold in the dark past Saturn, they bring with them a secret: they are not conquerors. They are afraid of what some humans carry.
Jax is a drive mechanic from a breaking-yard town on the gray coast of Earth. He has spent his life keeping a strange gift close, the ability to read the front edge of the world a half-second before it arrives. When the fleet finds him and hands him a piece of the enemy to wear at his temple, he becomes the one thing a thousand-minded swarm cannot predict: a single human mind willing to choose the path the consensus ruled impossible.
This is the story of the war they were afraid to tell. It begins at Mars.

Then the Varithra come for Earth, and the Mechanic, no longer keeping anything close, takes the next step. Book One ends here. The story continues in Book Two: Echoes from the Cradle. Chapters 30, 31, and 32 of The Battle of Mars.
